Puppy Love (2023)
Lovely film
I stumbled upon this and so pleased I did. Its such a lovely easy watch film and I really liked the characters. I loved Grant Gustin in The Flash and it took me a minute to realise it was him, him and Lucy Hale were both really good in this. Obviously it has dogs in it so that's a win, but overall it was just such a cute lovely film to watch.
Some bits of it tugged at the heart strings we have all been through covid and can still relate to how tricky it can and was to reintegrate back into society, everyone can struggle with that sometimes and the charm Grant Gustin certainly brings it true to life.
Dance Life (2024)
So emotional
Loved this show, it gets you right in the gut and that is down to the dancers and Cassie the teacher. All of the students are lovely and special shout out to Max O who is just a phenomenal talent.
But fave has to be Emily, inspiring what she has been through and her vulnerability just shone through as well as her incredible talent.
All of the dancers show just how much hard work, dedication, commitment and sheer tenacity is needed. Also loved Tiana who was another dancer who went through a traumatic school experience and shone like a star.
Loved this show, I sincerely hope there is a follow up show.
Shotgun Wedding (2022)
Good fun and easy watching
I actually cant understand the negative reviews. Those people clearly didnt bother watching the trailer or they take themselves far too seriously.
We thoroughly enjoyed this film, there are laughs and its got Jennifer Coolidge who is just great as usual.
Yes, not the best storyline but for goodness sake, after going through covid and deaths in family, sometimes just what you need is a comedy with a beautiful backdrop. Im a fan of Jennifer Lopez and she delivered.
I checked the trailer and weighed up that although its a 15 here in the UK we would allow our 11 year old to watch it and although there is swearing he enjoyed it as well.
If you want an easy watching film then please watch it.
The English (2022)
Brilliant show
Completely stumbled on this show and loved it. Romantic, sometimes hard to watch due to a bit of gore but realistic and was good to see the baddies get their just deserts. Although there are plenty of heartbreaking moments that make you tear up. I always love a show where there is a heroine fighting for justice for her family and Emily Blunt doesnt fail. I am a huge fan of hers and she is brilliant in this as is Chaske Spencer. The scenary makes you want to race off across it on horseback and the music is superb, the scores just make you feel so emotional, the opening credits music alone makes you get goosebumps. Worth a watch for sure.
Maid (2021)
Amazing
I am so surprised some reviews are saying that the character Alex made poor choices. She didn't. She made the choices she had to in the situations she was in. This whole show is absolutely brilliant, I have now watched it 3 times over. The acting is amazing and the subject is heartbreaking. Its relatable and understandable and so powerful.
Watch it, watch it, watch it.
Little Monsters (2019)
Funny and feel good
Just watched this film and really enjoyed it! Ignore some of the lower rated movies, this is just a feel good zombie movie (if there is such a thing). The little boy Felix is very cute and there are lots of moments where I did laugh out loud. Funny, cute and just an easy film to watch. Lupita and Alexander England were really good together.
The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
Brilliant xmas film!
Absolutely loved this. Even my dubious husband enjoyed it. Myself and our 7 year old definitely did.
I actually now cant imagine anyone playing Santa apart from Kurt Russel who was brilliant. Storyline was great but Kurt steals it. He was just great in it. The CGI was also really good. I highly recommend watching it!
