You (2018)
Lost my last bit of interest S4 EP8
I am not sure I can ever truly say this show was great, because looking back on it, there never really were any good redeeming main characters. But it was at least interesting and Joe seemed to always show some form of wanting to be good (or better). Somehow through all
of it, he seemed to have a sliver of goodness in him trying to get out. However, Season 4, Episode 8 put the final nail in the coffin for me and completely changed Joe's character from what we knew (or thought we knew) through the previous 37 episodes.
Never had a show lose all of my interest in one defining episode like this. But You managed to do it.
Yellowstone: All I See Is You (2021)
Editing mess
Ok, 3 episodes in and I just have to say it. This season is a mess! Did they hire a new editor to splice all the scenes up into disastrous order?
How is Kayce just now addressing his wife and kid after events that happened 2-3 months ago? That scene was fine, but it needed to happen much earlier. The show treated them like they didn't exist after the attack. Kayce would have never waited that long to address this with them or talk to his kid about killing a man.
Same deal with Rip. After the attack, I was so on edge with anticipation to see how pissed he was going to be when he first saw what happened to Beth. Nope. We never even got to see that reunion until she was all healed up way later with just scars left and aside from touching her scarred back, it's never addressed.
And where is the action? All glossed over in the monologue. When Dutton told Kayce they were going to kill all the militia, I thought there would be some more suspense, build up and action, but instead, we got to see it like we hit the fast forward button through it. That could have filled an entire episode and been really cool.
I love this show, but 3 episodes in, I have no real idea where it is headed this season, nor is there any main protagonist I am excited to see the Dutton's square of against. I mean, they just randomly threw in the scene of Rip chucking the rattle snake at Rourke in the first episode, so guess it won't be him (another scene seemingly out of place & just edited in).
So far, this show needs the Zack Snyder cut or something. I think it has good materiel there, but it's been a jumbled together mess.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Halloween Dies Tonight!
That would have been a more apt title, since they basically killed the franchise with this gigantic turd of a movie.
Ignorant mobs, lame score (c'mon Carpenter, what the heck happened to you?), meaningless kills, unnecessary flashbacks (I guess this was their attempt to add twists - which were lame).
I'm really curious if anyone who read the script questioned the line "evil dies tonight!" being used like 500 times?
They should go ahead and change the next movie's title to Halloween Blows, cause I have no doubt with this group writing and making them, it will fit perfectly with the movie.
