Really fun
23 May 2023
So much for me is positive and I just want to say I so appreciate how hard the cast and crew behind the scenes must have poured their heart and soul into this. It has so much heart! It is so very genuine and never feels rigged or over produced like so many other shows. It is a breath of fresh air. Sure it is low budget in comparison to some shows but just think of Dragula season 1 and 2 and Drag Race Season 1-2 this is just starting out. I really love this show.

The only negative for me is the music, the score is really painful and doesn't fit the show at all (I don't mean to be unkind, but it is really not good). Hopefully this first season will take off so they can get more funding for the next and get a new composer.

Oh it is BAD
15 November 2022
There is not one new idea or storyline in the entirety of this movie. There are no surprises. There are no deep characters, layered characters or anything stronger than a Hallmark channel lead character arc "oh the snob has amnesia and she learns to be nice and when her memory comes back she STAYS nice" is what you get. It was dull, it was cheesy, the music never let's up. There was literally nothing that made this special or funny or new. You don't care about any of the characters. That poor little child actress was cute but that's it and even she couldn't save it. Oh and did I mention her mother died and the guy (love interest) is also a widow? Because of course he is. Of course he is.....

Season 11 only review
3 November 2022
What. Happened. What happened? This might be the worst season I have ever tried to get through in all of AHS. As a mega fan, I am so disappointed and also dumbfounded. It might use the same camera, it might use the same music, but this does not feel like AHS but it's own separate show. There is no likeness. It's incredibly boring, characters are rather flat and one sided or a cliche or a stereotype (Ryan should no better we have more to offer then wanting sex all the time) and the only character that is slightly interesting nd perhaps not a cliché is the reporter. It is draining to watch it because the pace is so slow, and it has nothing new or exciting to offer and is not telling us a story we haven't seen already. With that Season 11 will not go down as being a good one. Skip it.

Good but odd casting
30 October 2022
Yes it's a story we have heard before but this does have some gorgeous art direction and a fantastic set. Andrew Lincoln is awesome in this, the actress chosen doesn't quite fit. It's rather hard to believe that she recently lost a baby as she seems in her 50s possibly close to 60 (not trying to be ageist just seems a little hard to believe in 1951 someone would have had a baby at 50). She gives a good performance but definitely one note, and almost identical to her role in Babadook (really the only difference is her hair color). I do wish there was a bit more to her character. And it's hard to see how the husband is treated, but it works for the story. This has a slow pace, but that's fitting. A quiet, ghostly vibe. My favorite part is definitely the set design.

Fun with great art direction
22 October 2022
Fun to watch with my older kids, never really boring. Some cheesy moments but nothing in comparison to how cheesy and unbearable Descendants is so if you have to pick one go with THIS one. Fantastic art direction and costuming also really brings the whole vibe of the story together. And having some famous older actors we love was a very nice touch too and they seem to be having fun in their roles in this. The only issue I had is that this is a fairy tale theme not in the real world yet one of the main characters says "Oh my God" about 24 times in a 3 min span like as typical teenager when she's freaking out over her friend being hurt near the end. I don't know if this was a misstep, clearly the actress was adlibbing and that is what she would have said in real life, but it's kind of hilarious because you're definitely taken out of the storybook fairy tale land here. Not a complaint, it's just really funny when they're literally in medieval fairy gowns and she's like "oh my god, like oh my god, like, oh my god.." had me and my kids cracking up. But yeah, we loved it honestly.

Review for Season 2
21 August 2022
I am flabbergasted at how terrible and unwatchable this is. It is... awful. I am a MEGA fan of the regular series, any and all of them. This is nothing at that level. The fact that they try to hide the identities of the celebrities when it is painfully obvious who each one is from the get go, and also what is the point of all of this? It could have been done so much better. I will stick to the other shows, this one is the worst thing World of Wonder has ever pumped out.

Outstanding indie gem - hilarious and fun and just silly
16 March 2022
Do yourself a favor and watch this on Hulu. It is a movie of the same show from Oasis in SF starring the mega talents of Matthew Martin as the villain and Darcy Drollinger as Champagne White and Nancy French as the scene stealing Debbie (who even when quiet you can't look away from her!). Everyone is clearly having a great time in this and it shows. It's campy fun with Drag Queens and Kings. It's just silly!

Honestly its a fun indie horror
16 March 2022
If you don't appreciate indie movies then this isn't for you. But if you're a horror festival nut like me, you will like this one. It's very well shot, great camera, and it's a fun watch. I have respect for anyone getting indie movies out during Covid as well.

Rating for 2022 season only
4 March 2022
Not a single likable character, lazy dialogue writing, cliche lines and plots. This trembles and badly. Save yourself time, life is precious, stick to Law & Order SVU and skip this absolute misery of a revived series.

Hugely Overrated
31 January 2022
I tried watching it several times just to be fair but it's dull, overrated and quite frankly maybe don't cast an actress with a face full of botox to play a 200 year old ghost.....they didn't have botox 200 years ago. If you want us to believe in the story you gotta put in some effort. Anyway, I don't get the hype over it but I did try to watch it over again to see if I was wrong.

Boring, dull, characters you can't stand
5 January 2022
The only characters that are either so terrible you like them or are cool are Juliette Lewis's broken Natalie and Cristina Ricci's sociopathic Misty. None of the other characters are likable in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER and it is painful. So painful. This is not an original concept to grace us on Amazon either, let's remember just last year this same show was out almost word for word to the point that you could mix the trailers and no one would know (teen girls plane crash island lord the flies etc....). Bottom line is that it does not live up to any hype and the character writing is a massive let down.

Making It (2018–2021)

Review for 3rd Season only
27 August 2021
While you have to appreciate the greatness of Amy and Nick, this season was oversaturated and overproduced to a point that you feel like you are drowning in positivity and sappiness. At times it feels forced on on the viewer so much so that it is cringeworthy. The edits include MORE music, more quick cuts, and it is over stimulating. I do appreciate how they show that the Makers get help from other Crew in building and is a tribute to them in comparison to so many other shows that act as though sets and design were so much easier to magically build. While the Makers were all cast quite well, and Nick and Amy are of course fun, Simon Doonan one of the Judges is once again neither interesting or knowledgeable. I still can't understand why he is on this show? Dayna for her part is "all right" and does seem to have a lot of knowledge. I hope for the next season there is less forced emotions and sappiness, that Doonan is replaced by someone - anyone - that the music is cut down in the edit because it is overpowering and distracting.

It doesn't know what it wants to be
18 August 2021
First off, just speak in all Italian. It is half English and half Italian which feels very strange and is rather stressful and confusing. Just being in all Italian would have been beautiful. The storyline is very strange. The makeup/prosthetics are a travesty (like think 2nd year film school) and the worst part....... It's a boring film.

A star for trying
9 August 2021
So there's a lot of problems with the script when you find out the end. If you were to go back to the previous scenes the ending just doesn't make sense or work at ALL. It's rather infuriating. The ball on the bed, the sister in the closet, it doesn't work. The lead actress is on a downward slope in Hollywood right now and I am sure this was a hopeful effort on her part to get a lead role again but she wasn't like-able or memorable sadly. Come to think of it, no one is like-able.... And you just can't have that.

This movie took me 3 tries to get through and could have been better if...
28 June 2021
The script probably read better on paper in comparison to how it ended up once filmed. There is no real "heart" in it and while the actors are very talented, it's not their fault this fails. If the screenwriter and Director had tried to flip the script and avoid cliches and stereotypes this could have been amazing. The original 1990 version had Baldwin playing a guy who takes advantage of women and is a player, and they basically just kept that same overdone cliche of a character in this one too! They SHOULD have made him into a woman and had her be powerful and manipulative, surprise us for christs sake! But there are NO surprises. Just watch the original. At least the cliches are expected and even more believable as it was 1990.

Lazy writing and directing
14 May 2021
This episode gave me just what I feared was happening with the show: a lot of corniness that isn't supposed to be corny, bad acting but of course this is mostly due to lazy and careless directing. The written script might read better than the show was directed as but it still wasn't great. This episode feels like what a 2nd year tv writing college student would write as an example. A huge let down. If you just watch the first few minutes you'll find your own eyes rolling.

WHY!!!!????
18 April 2021
What sweet hell did I just try to watch? I did not even finish this nonsense. WHO gave money to make this horrid script and why? WHY would we want to watch this while we are going through this? Absolute Rubbish. Watch anything else. This was clearly made by rich people who have nothing better to do with their money and have no talent.

Must be a brand new Director who doesn't know not to make it all about him but maybe he will learn
9 November 2020
Directed by.... written by.... starring...JIM CUMMINGS! Not the best actor but I can tell he tried. This guy hopefully will check his ego before he is given funding again for another werewolf movie or maybe he thought it was cheaper to have himself in it but directing yourself is NEVER an easy task unless you absolutely have to because an actor bailed at last minute. That being said, I am sure he learned a lot from this. Also there is a sweet reveal in it that I don't think I will forget for a long time and I appreciate that! Having a good reveal gains my respect.

I love Pauly Shore! But.....
15 September 2020
I was excited to see Pauly Shore and don't regret paying to rent this because at least the money will go to the film crew who worked hard. That being said, this movie has nothing to offer and is empty and the lead actors playing the young couple are so utterly dull and unlikeable. But the worst offense of this film is that: IT IS NOT FUNNY. Not one second. Really bummed me out because I needed some funny.

Alcoholism is not funny
29 August 2020
Imagine all the kids that actually grew up with parents with substance problems or those Parents struggling to stay clean and sober every day for themselves and their families. This title, the premise, is a giant insult and I am shocked that in 2019/2020 it would exist as now more than ever people are aware and respectful to those suffering. This movie should never have been made and should be boycotted.

Casting really ruined it
17 August 2020
Unfortunately Tavi Gevinson still has a lot of development she needs as far as acting skills go and I am not sure why she was cast alongside two other actors who did so remarkably well in their roles. Sometimes casting can make or break a show and in this case, casting her was a poor choice. This is a well written episode and I feel like it probably reads well on the page. The ending is interesting as well. But there are better episodes in this second season of The Twilight Zone.

Where the script lacks the actors do their best
22 April 2020
The worst part is the script's dialogue and over the top scenarios. It felt like they filmed off the very first draft of the script without making it better or realistic. I know people in film school that wrote better scripts their first year! Very cheesy moments and cliche dialogue. BUT the actors do they're best (which is not easy!) and I applaud them for that. Because of the likable actors the movie is saved. All in all its a good movie for kids aged 6-12.

Perfection
6 April 2020
The Casting Department needs to get a bigass trophy for this one. Outstanding cast all around, every single one of them. Every episode was great and kept the story moving while allowing us to know the character more deeply. Fantasic finale and I can't wait for season 2! No really I need season 2 like right now.

Finally an episode from Into the Dark worth watching
8 June 2019
I have not been impressed by Into the Dark until now. The other episodes were dull, poorly written and nothing special. This one however has it all. Great acting and chemistry and set design. A super spooky story with a few jumps. Worth the watch.
