Cheers: Spellbound (1987)
One of the very best.
Probably in my top 10 favorite episodes of all time. They way Nick, played by the brilliant Dan Hedaya makes the band play every few minutes, and lights the candles. Nick thinks because Diane was nice to him, she wants him, so he goes through all this hilarious stuff to try to win her over. I don't wanna ruin anything, so just watch it. You won't be sorry. Jean Kasem as Loretta is hilarious as usual. And the acting by everyone involved is superb, as always. Cheers deserves all the accolades it receives. And this episode, left me "Spellbound" with laughter. It's an absolute riot. I was in tears watching it it was so hysterical. An absolute classic.
Rocky (1976)
Greatest movie of all time!!!!
Jeez, I see all these 9 comments reviews, and it makes me sick. Just give it a 10 already. It's Rocky!! AFI lists it among the 100 greatest movies EVER, and it can't even make the top 250 on IMDb. What's up with that?? Everyone should give this classic Oscar winning movie the 10 stars it so richly deserves. The acting is brilliant, the music is the best ever, I love the Philadelphia locations. I mean, this film is perfect. I see reviewers saying "oh, its almost believable.", or I see a glowing 10 star review, but for whatever reason the person gives it a 9. I can't believe Rocky doesn't even have an 8 point rating on here. 7.9. Pfft. It should be a 9.5 easy. Two Thumbs Way Up for this classic movie!!!!!
Cheers (1982)
Greatest show ever bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers is by far the greatest show of all time. Nothing comes even close. And it has a 8.2 rating which is great. But then I see far less inferior shows like Seinfeld have an 8.6, or Frasier have an 8.4, then all of a sudden Cheers' 8.2 doesn't look so impressive. I mean, what's a couple decimals bigger, really. But, it's still annoying. Cheers should easily have a 9.5. At least. I mean there are actually 70 people, the last time I checked, I believe, who gave Cheers a 1 rating. A 1??!!! Now, I can understand, maybe Cheers isn't your cup of tea, so you give it a 4, or 5. But a 1!!! That's a little harsh. Cheers is the 3rd most Emmy winning sitcom of all time with 28. It's the longest running sitcom of all time tied with M*A*S*H, and Cheers' inferior spin off Frasier, for 11 Seasons. And Cheers' series finale in 1993 is the 2nd most watched show for an episodic program of all time, with 80.5 million viewers!!! Over half of the televisions in the US were tuned in to watch this history making series come to a close. Behind only M*A*S*H maybe, Cheers should be considered the greatest show of all time. And many people think it is. But there are more people seemingly, who think Seinfeld, for whatever reason is, and that's absurd. Seinfeld is way overrated. And it seems, that today, Cheers is underrated. 10 Stars all the way for this brilliantly acted, classic show. There will never be another Cheers.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
One of my all time favorite movies.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of my all time favorite movies still, after all these years. I'm 20, so I was growing up, when it first came on, TV, and I still have all the toys, and much of the merchandise. The first movie had great acting, especially Elias Koteas, who played Casey Jones. A highly underrated movie that got some really great reviews though. Joel Seigal from the Today Show I believe, said "Charmed the shell out of me. The most original idea in years." And it made over 150 million, so its a bonified blockbuster. I wish it got better treatment on DVD. Some extras would be nice. Deleted scenes, commentary, behind the scenes footage, outtakes, cast interviews would all be fantastic. I would love to hear all involved speak about this movie in retrospect, and the impact its had on their careers. This movie is great. Go buy it if you don't have it immediately.
