Epic Java is a beautiful presentation of Javanese landscape. Using time-lapse and slow motion footages, Embara Films successfully captured the vastness of Java, ranging from the beaches and mountains into the cities and Javanese culture.
Embara Films is an independent team, funded from personal savings and Indonesian crowdfunding site Wujudkan. As their first major feature, there are several technical drawbacks of Epic Java that might affect your experience. Several footages are not in the best resolution for big screen (the team said that earlier footage was originally intended only for Youtube). Also, the audio could use an extra mastering treatment to further enhance the dynamics.
All in all, as a person who loves to travel, I enjoyed the Epic Java a lot. Even if you're not into traveling, I would still recommend it for its aesthetics.
