IS IMPORTANT that you consider plastic in 1967. If you look around in the movie you may notice that there are very few things made of plastic in this movie. Most of the types of plastics have not been introduced yet that make up life today. Automobiles have very little plastic in them then. The soundtrack with the Angelic voices of Simon and Garfunkel are an undeniable element in this flick Could be described as a new style this movie when it was fresh, movies were mostly dialogue before this. It would be copied from time to time yet never become mainstream. COUGARS were also sort of new when this movie was fresh. Not now though Like plastic ,cheap and everywhere today. Wish I could come up with a neat package to tie this up with but I just can't think of one. This is a milestone movie, and while it was shocking when new I don't think anyone anymore would find it to be so. Maybe is enough to be the first as it pretty much was. I don't want to hang A name on it . Not sure it would help. I was twelve when it was new so it wasn't new when I saw it first. Well worth a watch I don't think you'll find much to compare it too and to me is unforgettable.
Not your regular crime drama. This is about a has been crew going back for a swan song with a bitter disgusting boss. Jack Wardenn is the un-offical narator breaking it down and explaining the local slang so we can follow the story. Our hero is a saint of sorts just with all the rough edges. The crew are not the pros we saw in HEAT. More like the gang who couldn't shoot straight. The heroine isnt average either. No snow white, she started down the wrong road just like all the guys did and here comes the paradox, No heart for it, Now What. And that is about as much as I can tell you without spoiling everything. Does the Man with the Plan win and get what's coming too him? Who is the Big Noise and what happens now? Enough weirdness that Halloweentime is the right time to watch this one yet is no Thriller. Crine Drama with some twists and a paradox or two. Your gonna have to watch this one more than once if your gonna sort all this out.
