Copper Canyon (1950)
Good Western, Great Scenery
I am not going to say so much about the plot because other reviewers have. First, something I did not see in any other reviews and that is the scenery. Much of this was filmed around Sedona, Arizona. Great scenery. Ray Milland does a decent job as the lead. MacDonald Carey did a very good job as the bad guy. I saw him in the Streets of Loredo with William Holden and Carey was outstanding as the friend of the lead, Holden, and the bad guy. From these two performances I think he should have been cast in more movies and I think he could have done the lead. Frank Feylen, from the 60's "Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, play another of his many bad guy rolls. Not John Wayne, James Stewart, Randolph Scott or Joel Mccrea but an enjoyable movie. If you like westerns it is one to watch.
Bergerac: Picking It Up (1981)
Recovering from and injury and alcoholism a policeman coming back to work.
Just watched this first episode of Bergerac on youtube. I was interested in watching this program because of John Nettles. I finished watching the 81 episodes of Midsomer Murders with John Nettles on netflix about a week ago. It was interesting the see the difference of Nettles from older to younger, for me. As an American I like British mysteries and humor. This episode of Bergerac starts with him coming back to Jersey via airplane. He witnesses, from the plane as it lands, a vehicle trying to stop a small plane take off but it crashes and the driver dies. It turns out to be a good friend. Bergerac is coming back to Jersey, where he was a police sergeant, after time in a hospital recovering from a broken leg caused by drug dealers and a problem with alcohol. Is wife has divorced him and he has a daughter. He was promised by the police chief that he would get his job back but now it looks like he won't. He goes on his own to discover what the crime was his friend had been following. Without saying more I found it entertaining. I will watch more episodes.
