Arcane (2021– )

League of Legends??
15 November 2021
I play video games and I have heard of League of Legends, but never played it. I stumbled across an awesome music video/cinematic for the game (Awaken). Then I stumbled across another by Imagine Dragons. Then I looked up others that didn't have songs that went with them and the cinematics were awesome.

I was overjoyed to see Arcane come out on Netflix, as it gives backstories to these characters in the game. Please keep making the songs/music, cinematics, and animated series. I love them all!!!

I don't understand the bad reviews. This is a really good show!
29 October 2021
I see all these bad reviews and I don't understand. I guess people these days expect immediate gratification and are unable to comprehend a build up of character background and parallel plots.

I like this show as it slowly brings together stories from different characters around the world and how different cultures and governments are reacting to the events. Intertwined with these separate personal stories are human connections, both family, inherited family (military) and work families.

I don't want to see everything thrown to me in the first episode with some major attack, its been done too much. I also don't want to see some pathetic and truly slow "war of the worlds" plot like a similar series is doing.

Just watch it and enjoy it and have some patience. If you don't have patience, then wait for the season to finish and then binge watch it!

Absolutely Loved It!

I never heard of this until it popped up on Amazon Prime recently. This is definitely in my top 5 all favorite series. I love that Wayne just keeps trying against all odds. The show has a lot of bad language, but if you can tolerate that you will love this series too.

Light-hearted and fun!
1 October 2020
This is the first movie I have watched with Millie Bobby Brown that wasn't Stranger Things. She did an excellent acting job in this, as did Henry Cavil and Helena Bonham Carter.

I thought the movie was well-made and just fun. I won't offer any spoilers, but if you are looking for a light-hearted fun movie, this is good.

An excellent and unique sci-fi movie.

The only person I know from this movie is Connie Nielson. However, I didn't even know that she was in it when I rented the movie, the premise of the movie just sounded interesting.

There is no super special effects, only effective acting as to what real people would act like in such a situation. This was the best part to me, the realistic effects, the ideology and selflessness of a true scientific mind that followed her ethics no matter the cost.

I strongly suggest you watch this movie if you want a realistic-feeling sci-fi/creature movie. Great acting from the cast and the creature is very well done also.

Confused by the high rating????
28 September 2019
Based upon the IMDB high rating for this film, I went to watch it with my wife. What a complete waste of time. I like all the actors and actresses in the movie, but the plot was HORRIBLE!! In the beginning they pretty much stick to real science and the laws of physics, but at the end it all goes out the window. There is so much that isn't explained to try and rationalize the plot. I wish Brad had worked on World War Z 2 instead.

Good movie about a deadly viral outbreak.

The movie takes place in South Korea and the audio track is in Korean with English subtitles. I thought it was well made, along with good characters. Especially the adorable little girl. I highly recommend this movie.

Truly one of the worst Sci-Fi shows ever!
28 July 2019
I am going to be honest. I watched the first episode and just barely made it through. Horrible acting, horrible plot, horrible music, horrible etc. I really like Katee Sackhoff, but she can't save this sinking ship. Yep, I got all that from the first episode.

I decided to skip to the last episode of the season to see how it ends. Just reread my first paragraph!

A very interesting Sci Fi twist. I enjoyed it a lot!
2 April 2019
I first saw this on youtube, it was a horrible pixelated movie that I could barely tell what was going on. However, I got the overall concept and looked for it at the time, but couldn't find it.

I finally found it on Itunes and purchased it. I thought the plot was excellent and the acting was pretty good too, considering I have never seen any of the actors before. However, sometimes that is for the best.

I very much enjoyed the movie and if you appreciate Sci Fi movies that have some intelligence rather than just a lot of CGI, then I think you will enjoy this. I know I did.

Incredible short stories. Very Impressed!
17 March 2019
This somewhat reminds me of the Animatrix, though none of the stories are interconnected. If you are a Sci-Fi fan, then you will easily binge-watch this season (hopefully more are to come). My favorite is three robots, because my wife brought two cats into our marriage and she bought me the game "exploding kittens". You will have to watch the episode to fully understand, but it is very funny.

An interesting twist in the story.
28 July 2018
I like both Michael Pena and Lizzy Caplan and enjoyed seeing both in this movie. I enjoyed the story and the twist in the plot. Compared to some of the horrible mainstream budget-bloated sci fi movies coming out at the box office, this one is easily above those in terms of coherent plot and good cgi without trying to blow up the entire world with cgi.

How It Ends (2018)
9/10
A good movie despite the bad reviews.
13 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First off, I want to say this isn't an action-packed popcorn flick. I liked the characters in the movie and enjoyed their road trip. I liked what special effects they had of the emerging event. I personally believe it was a geomagnetic pole reversal (primarily based on the aurora borealis). However, the thing that annoyed people, which I liked, is that the film didn't provide a cause of the event unfolding around the world. It left it up to the person's imagination. Too many people these days need to be told what to think, what to do, what to believe. Let your mind think for itself and wander in thought.

Of the post-apocalyptic films I have seen, this is one of the better ones (at least for me). I believe it is definitely worth watching!

Waste of acting talent and your time!
30 June 2018
The overall idea would have been intriguing...with a completely different screenplay. The plot was very flimsy with major plotholes (kind of like a pothole but with..well, you get the idea). I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, it is a waste of time. There are some actors in this that are good, or used to be..looking at you John Cusack (maybe just stick to comedy or retire).

Um, well, Um, yeah, not so good
28 May 2013
I loved loved loved Hangover I. I liked liked Hangover II. I hate hated Hangover III. I really liked Hangover I, it was a lot of fun. Hangover II was a re dash of Hangover I in a different city. It was a bit raunchier, but still a lot of fun. Hangover III was NOT a hangover movie. It's storyline was different and included murder X3 in a NOT so funny manner. Sorry, but the humor of the Hangover series was dropped completely in this movie. I recommend you NOT watch, was not funny and was actually a bit sad. I love the stars of this movie... Was sad to see this!!!!! Okay, apparently I don't have enough line of text for this review. That is very funny, so sorry for the extraneous lines of review text. Ugh, what is with IMDb that I have to write so much. Have you see Fast and Furious 6? Well, it is pretty good for a popcorn movie. Have I made the 10 lines of text yet? Oh god, I hope so... Blah Blah Blah... Hehe, this tells me I have some grammar and spelling errors...

Revolution (2012–2014)

Almost End of Season 1
28 May 2013
Well, I watched Revolution from the beginning of Season 1. I am an Electrical Engineer and I said "Lets just negate physics for the sake of a television show" for a little while. I wasn't very amused in the beginning and boredom really just kept me watching this show. So, as I said, boredom kept me watching and the reasoning behind the electrical blackout was interesting. The characters began to grow on me and I slowly started to enjoy the overall storyline. Is this a Shakespeare play??? NO, but it is a bit of fun in the end. Just kick back, drink some rum and coke, microwave some popcorn and enjoy the FUN! I think we should be into season 3 or 4, but just at the end of season 1. OH, and I love Elizabeth Mitchell!!!
