Shingeki no Kyojin: Smoke Signal (2018)
Kinda rushed in my opinion
First thing: New opening is ok, but it doesn't really fit with previous 3 openings (and it's not as good, but like I said "ok").
Most of the things in this episode felt kinda rushed...that doesn't mean it's bad, but I would prefer slower pace (more time for characters and that stuff).
Example (2 that come to my mind): Story of Historia wasn't really explored...they just went on the mission. And Eren/titan scene was also very fast...sure Eren can regenerate, but damn, Eren looked like freaking skeleton, how is that not a big deal (I guess not?). And after that they just time-skip, and Eren was fine...not like he was missing half of his face moments ago. I know he can regenerate, but that was just too fast, there was almost no concern...
To sum it up; interesting episode, but too rushed.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Good, but not the best.
I liked the movie, but I have some problems with it.
-There were too many jokes. That doesn't mean I didn't like them, or that they ruined the mood, but half of them were unnecessary...they could easily use that time for story and characters.
-Too many characters. The problem isn't exactly what I said, but mostly "the focus" of the characters, some characters were there just to be there...they were ok (not bad), but I would rather see more important characters.
In my opinion the best characters in the movie were Thanos, his servents, Iron man, Doctor Strange. A little bit less, but also Thor, Star Lord and Gamora. But for all of them I wish they had more screen time, to be even better.
Wanda and Vision were also pretty important, but personally I didn't really like them that much, I mean they were ok. Vision was also kinda disappointing in terms of power (remember, he was very important and powerful in Age of Ultron).
I also wish that they would spend more time on the stones, their story, powers and things like that.
There are also some other things I want to say (positive, or some nitpicks), but it's really not that important and I don't want to go too much into details. Oh, effects were very good, better than in movies before, so that's why I mentioned it.
Dragon Ball Super: Doragon bôru cho: ACCELERATING TRAGEDY: A UNIVERSE VANISHES! (2017)
Episode about both Universe 6 and Universe 2, but fails at doing them justice.
Not really a bad episode, but some things could be much better.
I liked how they erased two universes at the same time, that was nice idea. But still both Universe's (stories) suffer from that.
I will just tell positives and negatives for me:
POSITIVES:
-Universe 6 Namekian story was very good in my opinion, it's also a throwback to DBZ (Namek saga and Android saga). So again I really liked that.
-All fights were pretty cool, the best one was Gohan and Piccolo one.
-"Black hole" attack, must say that was pretty cool.
-"Father-Son Kamehameha" whole scene.
NEGATIVES:
-Universe 2 warriors transform into "magical love boys", same as those 3 girls. It was kinda funny, but that's it, other than that, it's a waste of pretty good character designs and personalities (possibly).
-Universe 2 also tries to be dramatic, but with most viewers fails (I assume), because they were pretty annoying in the past.
-Caulifla chasing 2 Namekians...I get what were they trying to do, but really? That wasn't really funny...but kinda annoying.
Middle one (50/50):
-I get what were they trying to do; characters still being happy and goofy even at the time of their erase. But it fails (in my opinion). Universe 2 yeah I get it, I understand why they are like that, because their universe is all about that (love, happiness...no despair), but don't make a commercial about yourself when you die, that killed it for me (I would prefer a quick scene and not a montage of the universe). And for Universe 6 again Caulifla casing the Nameks? What was that really? I get it, but wouldn't be better (more dramatic) if Kale and her would hug, or something? And their Kai yawning? Come on...at least Cabba and Hit were good. And Champa is in the middle, I mean it is in his character that he would do that, so I guess it fine, but personally I think it wasn't that good. Reaction from Beerus was pretty accurate for this (kinda silly) case.
So again nice ideas, but it was pretty rushed and execution could be better. OK episode (again shortly: Gohan, Piccolo and Namekians stuff was great, just a little bit rushed...and Universe 2 stuff was "meh", except for "black hole attack").
Dragon Ball Super: Doragon bôru cho: With Great Joy! The Repeat Battle-Crazy Saiyan Fight!! (2017)
Possibly the worst/most annoying episode of DBS? (ep. 113: Annoying characters/actions, pointless commentaries, lack of logic).
Dragon Ball Super sometimes has problems, but I still try to enjoy it when that happens. But this time I can't help.
(this review will contain spoilers of course, + if you are just "casual" fan maybe you won't understand some of the expressions, example: SSJ=super saiyan...)
First off, episode starts with preview of itself? Emm, OK that was kinda cool, but why? They showed some cool parts to hype us I guess, but that also leads to disappointment later...example: in this preview we see (one of my favorite transformations) SSJ3, and when it actually happens in the episode it's in the end (last minute) and everything was already in the preview! =/
This would be kinda OK in other episodes (if done right), but not if episode is very bad, like this one...seriously, good things were mostly in the preview, and then executed very badly in actual episode.
So Caulifla wants to fight Goku, OK cool...Goku of course won't refuse because he is Goku, but otherwise he could just teleport away and rest (in any time of the fight). It's small problem/nitpick, but I think it was worth mentioning.
Caulifla goes right to SSJ2, no SSJ1 or base form, and fights. At first she is stronger (of course, because Goku is tired)...
And here we get some annoying (fake) tension/reactions from the audience. Krillin commenting like we don't understand what is happening, also making very big deal out of it. And there are also Beerus and Champa talking trash about the other and their teams and stuff like that. Usually I like their interaction, but in this case it was just too long, I was like "OK, we get it". I think they even repeated some of the stuff they already said. And I have one example that was just so stupid in my opinion: Champa saying something against Beerus, and Beerus saying "Nani?! (What did you say?!)" he already said much worst things in previous 15 episodes, so that was stupid/overreaction (even for him).
...so later Goku starts overcoming Caulifla in his base form, which is cool, but it kinda doesn't make sense (he is tired+in previous battle they were both fighting in SSJ2 forms). And then Whis (+I think Krillin/Roshi) comments "Goku is good fighter that's why he can do that..." oh man, yeah true, but not if your opponent is like many times stronger than you (fun fact: SSJ2 is supposed to be 100x multiplier of your speed and strength, but I know those are details...but still SSJ2 vs base)...all of that would be kinda fine/OK-ish if Caulifla wouldn't just become stronger/better in seconds. Sure, she is a good fighter, but it was executed so poorly (like everything about her and Kale).
Then later Goku transforms into ssj/2, and Kale also joins the fight, I will admit SSJ Goku vs 2 other SSJs kinda makes sense.
And in the end Goku transforms into SSJ3 like I said in beginning. Sure it's hard to animate that, but I would appreciate Goku punching Caulifla some moments after transforming (sending her into rocks behind). That would be something (not because I hate her, well that too a little bit XD, but just because it would be cool).
Maybe all those things sounded like overreacting, but it really was annoying/bad.
Other small things that were kinda bad: -Kale easily transforming into her controlled state, could be better executed. -Caulifla and Kale aren't that great of a characters, that's why I don't really like them (them obtaining those abilities and power, kinda like they don't deserve it). They are underdeveloped, that's also the problem. - Where are other fighters, come on just Caulifla, Goku, and Kale in this episode...(+in 114 preview, again just them) =/ -Also Krillin commenting "so this is the fight between two SSJ2s". Come on, this is stupid, SSJ1,2,3...are multipliers, they are not the same strength, more powerful the user more powerful is he with that form...example: Goku ssj2 is much stronger now than in DBZ. That's why line like "so this is the power of two SSJ2s" is stupid. -Goku turning into SSJ3 when he is tired is kinda stupid as a concept tbh (even though I love SSJ3, and I admit scene was cool).
Oh, well fight and animation overall wasn't bad imo, and there were some cool moments, but that's it.
That was long LOL, but seriously, right now this is probably my least favorite episode of DBS (sure there probably are worse, but not many).
ps. this is also my first review here, so forgive me if structure isn't that great.
