A Dangerous Place (2012 Video)

Poor Cinematography

The story is simple:

1) company makes TB vaccination,

2) TB outbreak occurs,

3) company has monopoly on TB meds.

Throughout the whole movie, the filming was jerky. I think the longest continuous shot was about 5 seconds. I watched this with my brother (15) and even he thought it was a stupid plot and he had a headache from the quick movements. Says the boy who thought Chronicle was a GREAT movie and enjoys fast, jerky, war movies.

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE...or if you do, be sure to stock up on motion sickness pills.

LOL (2012)

Miley Cyrus believable as troubled teen.

I ran across LOL on Netflix. I'd heard about the movie earlier and wanted to see it, however it never made it to theaters around me and I never caught it on TV. The story is basic: a girl with divorced parents is trying to find herself among various influences. She does drugs, thinks about sex all the time, and drinks. She goes against her mother's wishes and throws a big party. Mind you, she maintains a very strong relationship with her mom through the movie's entirety.

Miley Cyrus isn't the best actress, but her role as Lola was believable. I felt like she was Lola and her emotions were in tact.

I would compare this movie to Perks of Being a Wallflower in that teens are trying to find who they are among the pressure to drink, pressure to smoke, pressure to have sex, and most of all the pressure of parents to be perfect.

I definitely would recommend this movie. I enjoyed it. Not for anyone under, say, 15, but a good movie overall.

5/10 because I felt like there could be more action. The whole movie was just about her drinking, smoking, and trying to get revenge on her ex Chad. Even when she goes to Paris, she's just trying to have sex with her boyfriend. Lola needs a life that has adventure and she needs to put up the bottles and blow out the joint!
