Hidden Universe 3D (2013)
Kids' entertainment
Generally, for £20 at the Science Museum in London you expect some pleasant experience that brings enlightenment to your mind. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
After seeing the trailer, I was so thrilled I couldn't remember last time I was so excited about the universe and I thought to myself, perhaps this is it, this might be the A-star universe film I've been waiting for.
After watching the film, when you come back and see the trailer again, you realise that they just tricked you, because actually none of what they claimed to present in the movie, is revealed. The universe scenes are extremely short, for instance you're supposed to experience the most important star of all - the Sun - however, they only give you this experience for about 15 seconds. When I enter the cinema to 'experience the most important star of all' I want to stare at it for at least 10 minutes from different angles, different distances, while narrator reveals some interesting facts.
"Shallow and Short" are the adjectives that come to your mind first. If it'd be up to me, I'd rename this film to ' Hidden Universe 3D for Kids '
Generation Um... (2012)
One of the best films ever made.
Yes, in my point of view, Generation Um, is one of the best films ever made. Unfortunately, it only appeals to very narrow audience.
John played by Keanu, struggles very much. Not only he's an underachiever, he seems not to be looking for any meaning in his life. Mostly, he accepts what he is given and yet occasionally he looks for excitements in wrong places.
His friendship with 2 young women is mysterious in its own way. Everything there is based on mutual trust, understanding and support. The fact, that you're not told about their job just makes everything more than exciting to watch and you suddenly realise that the depths those characters reached are limitless.
I recommend this film to everyone who is not afraid to see what life is really about, in its purest form, when all ideals, all happy endings vanish and all you have left is yourself and an ability to see things as they really are.
