ABC Weekend Specials: Little Lulu (1978)
Equal Rights!
I'm a fan of Little Lulu so I actually did love this ABC weekend special of her going to summer camp to compete with Tubby and the rest of the boys who won't let Lulu and her friends join their club. This reminded me of the comics with her always getting even or revenge of The Fellers for making her super Mad! The actress who plays Lulu, Lauri Hendler did a fantastic job I thought. The kid who played Tubby was all right but a little whiny. The girl who played Gloria actually reminded me of her cartoon character. Billy Jacoby who played Alvin, I thought did a fine job but Alvin in the comic books was munch younger and had blond hair, And he really didn't repeat himself so munch like in the special. And Lulu Baxter who played Annie, which I found ironical that her real name was Lulu. also did a fantastic job as her sidekick. I also enjoyed the woman who you might remembered played Thelma Harper's crafty neighbor Iola Boylan on Mama's Family playing the girl's counselor who doesn't like bad sportsman ship. It was a well done TV special.
Little Lulu to chicchai nakama (1976)
The Japanese Version Of Little Lulu!
From 1976 to 1977 Little Lulu which was based on the comics by Marjorie Henderson Buell, and later by John Stanley, was giving a Japanese anime show called "Little Lulu And Her Little Friends" this series has been out of print and has been really forgotten about.
When I first saw a couple of episodes of it on Youtube, I thought it was a good Little Lulu spin off from Japan! and the music & the opening was delightful as can be!
You had Lulu, Tubby, Iggy and his sister Annie, Alvin, Willy, Eddie, Wilbur, Gloria, and of course those nasty West Side Boys! and having one of them have the same hairstyle as Peppermint Patty is Priceless!
But it's too bad not a lot of people know that this existed from back in the day, but It still holds up to It's Potential!
The Little Lulu Show (1995)
I Use To Watch This All The Time On HBO In The 90s!
I always enjoyed watching The Little Lulu Show when it was on HBO, sure the jokes are corny but it was still all in good fun! the whole series were really based on John Stanly's comics of the 1950s, but this show is really supposed to take place in the 90s but all the characters still were their old fashion clothes, go figure? anyway, you had Lulu Moppet during a comedy stand up routine in each episode, you know just like what Jerry Seinfeld did on his TV show, some of the kids you could basely explore their personality's.
For example, you had Tubby the fat kid and leader of the boys clubhouse, Wilbur the rich and snobby one, Gloria the one girl who thinks she's the prettiest girl in the whole neighborhood, Alvin the little bratty kid, Annie who's not to bright and so on.
But personally I still thought this was a great children's show! and I sometimes wish it should get rebooted some day.
Recount (2008)
Wait A Minute, So Who Won This Election?!
Base on a true story of the 2000 president election Florida recount between Vice President Al Gore and The then Governor of Texas George W. Bush, at first we all think Gore wins Florida thus making him the 43rd President! but wait, now the state goes to Bush! And now both sides are at war over who actually won Florida? did Bush really won the state or was Gore the winner of Florida in the first place. Kevin Spacey plays ( Ron Klain ) Denis Leary plays ( Michael Whouley ) who uses more cuss words then any other actor in the movie.
Laura Dern who plays the Secretary of State Katherine Harris won a Golden Globe award for her performance, and I think she deserved it To! Directed by Jay Roach of Austin Powers, Meet The Parents, Mystery Alaska, I thought he did a wonderful job of this HBO TV movie, this was also the time of Bush's last year in office and Obama's road to the white house.
I give it ten stars because it is a great film!
South Park: A Nightmare on FaceTime (2012)
One Of The Funniest South Park Episodes Ever!
What happens when Randy buys the old Blockbuster video store and has his family working for it? Everything! first off, Nobody comes at all except for some ghost that only he see's while going completely nuts!
And our boys dressing up as the Avengers on Halloween with Stan using Kyle's iPad, and it's pretty funny that people don't see Cartman as The Hulk but ether Honey Boo Boo. or Harvey Fierstein making him really pi**ed off.
And also there are some robbers at the Kum & Go convenience store, who thinks it's a good ideal to steal video rental cash from the machine!
Then you have Stan on his iPad, dressed as the Gangnam style guy trying to find the robbers whereabouts in the Monster Mash costume party.
Also I liked the spoof of The Shining with Randy trying to kill Stan, "Stanny boy I'm Coming!" and Kenny's Iron Man costume actually hearing his voice talk under his mask was also hilarious.
It's one of my top favorite South Park Halloween Episodes!
