Rocketshed (2016)
9/10
Will you 'shed' some tears?
17 December 2016
I watched this premiere at the Exeter Phoenix two short nights film festival. Eight-year-old Jack and his Dad sit in their 'Rocketshed', a garden shed they've converted into a rocket ship. 'The countdown timer ticks down. Two minutes till lift off. Not long to go now.' Both George Bull and Kevin Johnson gave a moving performance. Clearly their mission is to save the world, which brings back memories of films such as Deep Impact. With excellent visuals, sound effects and performance for four minutes I was taken away to another world. I would highly recommend watching this, but take some tissues. Director Dominic Lee is a filmmaker from Devon in the UK. He has worked on a wide variety of projects both shorts and features, with many going on to win awards and receive critical acclaim.
