Salaam-E-Ishq (2007)
Brain cells lost
The only possible way to enjoy this flick is to bang your head against the wall, allow some internal hemorrhaging of the brain, let a bunch of your brain cells die and once you are officially mentally retarded, perhaps then you *MIGHT* enjoy this film.
The only saving grace was the story between Raju and Stephanie. Govinda was excellent in the role of the cab driver and so was the Brit girl. Perhaps if they would have created the whole movie on their escapades in India and how they eventually fall in love would have made it a much more enjoyable film.
The only reason I gave it a 3 rating is because of Govida and his ability as an actor when it comes to comedy.
Juhi Chawla and Anil Kapoor were wasted needlessly. Plus the scene at Heathrow of the re-union was just too much to digest. Being an international traveler in the post 9/11 world, Anil Kapoor would have got himself shot much before he even reached the sky bridge to profess his true love :) But then again the point of the movie was to defy logic, gravity, physics and throw an egg on the face of the *GENERAL* audience.
Watch it at your own peril. At least I know I have been scarred for life :(
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)
A faced pace but at times unbelievable film
OK first the good part... Amazing camera work. The cinematography is just too cool.
The story is tight and riveting. The acting is top class and the action sequences are amazingly choreographed.
So why did I gave it just an 8/10??? For one some parts of the plot were just too unbelievable.
1. A CIA most wanted guy is traveling across the globe and is still not getting caught by the authorities. Specially when his snap had already been sent to most of these countries.
2. Jason Bourne who is hunted by CIA manages to enter their building and calling the director of operations????????????? I mean that was the time when I blurted out WTF!!! I could go on an on but lets just say some of the parts were downright stupid.
Other than that it was a great entertainer. I loved watching it!!!
Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota (2006)
Sad excuse of a movie
The movie could have been executed better even though a novel idea. The movie was a bit of a drag for me because as an Indian I already know the stark contrast between the kind of people who travel to the US. So it maybe an eye-opener for a foreigner but nothing new for me. The ending was the worst. They should have just probably ended with the WTC coming down. Konkana Sen traveling from Boston to LA???? Wow!!! its like 8 hrs by flight!!!! By bus it will be forever!!!! And she never bothers to contact her hubby for the days she was traveling??? WT????? Also direction wise it looked sloppy and un-professional as if I was watching it as part of an amateur film festival. Not expected out of a man of the stature of Mr. Shah.
Derailed (2005)
Shakes you up!
Never mind the plot (which by the way I liked!) the acting and the foul mouthed movie. What really shook me up was the ease in which someone can fall into such a honey trap.
Since being married myself, through out the movie I kept trying to put myself in Clive's position and kept thinking...... What would I have done if I was being blatantly being black-mailed to such a degree.
The feeling of being helpless at the mercy of a Rapist and a black mailer. Sometimes you really wished that he should have hanged the Frenchmen on a pole and slowly roasted him on an open flame.
It was frustrating at times to feel the shear helplessness of the position Clive was in.
But there is a lesson to learn from this, be open to ur spouse as I feel Clive would have been in a much better position had he talked about this to his wife.
Overall I recommend the movie as a Must see and appreciate the way it makes you feel helpless abt the situation but to also inspire you that in the age of divorces and break-ups family is still something worth fighting for, its still something worth dying for....
Hollow Man II (2006)
Another 12th grade chemistry experiment gone wrong!!
Well as the heading explains it, its another sci-fi horror-o-suspense mix-up. As if the first movie was not painful enough to watch, we have another one (yawn!). And yes, they don't get the chemo formula right this time either, and thats for the second time (Someone needs to take these scientists out of the lab and fire them.. twice!). Another bad blend of damsel in distress, ex special forces and a big bad corp out to get you, there you have a movie..... Its suffers from bad direction to bad acting and a worn down script. You can guess whats gonna happen next, so not much of a suspense either. In case your GF has dumped you and you having nothing better to do in life. Go ahead and watch this one....
Now I wished I could have disappeared after seeing such crap.
