Vercingétorix (2001)
Oh dear, dear me...
I believe for a movie to get a one-star rating, it must truly be cinematic diarrhea...this movie came hideously close to a one-star rating.
Not only is the dialog ridiculously cheesy and idiotic, it is poorly acted, directed, set, costumed, etc. etc. The "climactic" parts of the film are absolute rubbish, and make no logical sense whatsoever. There is random, pointless nudity in the film which is completely absurd, and I feel was added to the story, simply so the film would earn an "R" rating.
Please don't watch this movie unless you want a good laugh. If you do in fact want to laugh, watch it at the sheer hilariousness which is the plot, otherwise...carry on, and rent something with some real entertainment value.
Jane Eyre (1996)
Dear God! Why this casting?!
Because the story is so amazingly beautiful,I didn't have the heart to give it a bad rating but, as another person here has already said, William Hurt should not have been casted as Mr. Rochester. Alan Rickman would have truly done a lovely job. He is very good at being a consistently cheesed of character, while still bringing a tad bit of dry humor to his roles. (Although I'm not so sure he wasn't offered it and turned it down. He does that often with good stories, unfortunately.) Anyway, the story is brilliant, so if you are deciding on which version of 'Jane Eyre' to watch, this is it, however, I would recommend that you read the book.
Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)
Pathetic....
This propaganda film is one of the worst yet.It is completely ridiculous to think that more than 2% of this movie has any truth to it. I'm not even politically stable, but I realize that this movie could be used as fertilizer, if you get what I'm saying. It is a disgrace to films and film makers everywhere. The only reason it did as well as it did/does is because of impressionable kids, like myself, falling for everything people tell them. And, just to be fair, the movie isn't even well made. Come on...people. Can't you see that Michael Moore mashed potatoes, please made this film of his own opinion completely, and edited film clips to make the president look worse and worse. I'm not saying you have to agree with what he does,(God knows I often times don't) but he is leading our country in this time of war, and we should stand by him. I would not call a propaganda film, such as this one, "standing by him."
