Kurup (2021)

Hype killed this one

Kurup has nothing new to offer. Ott release would've been better. Absolutely not worth risking your life in cinemas during the pandamic. The hype isn't real! It's not what they advertised it to be. Was a mockery to pull audiences back to theatres.

Kurup is only an average 2.something hours stretched flick with repeating scenes, flamboyant dialogues, colourful shots and the "geniuses" of Mr. Kurup. First half was a pain to sit through. The writer's imagination is filled with loopholes. Better watch on Netflix.

Pros - Cinematography, props, soundtracks, costumes, Shine Tom Chacko Cons - Dialogues, sreenplay, story, duration.

Bhramam (2021)

Prithviraj reverted back to his yesteryear acting skills. How can a legendary actor like him do this bad? Dude can't even copy Ayushman. What a waste of time, talent and money! The hindi version is hundred times better than this badly executed mess. All the actors were just mediocre. The music is outright bad for a movie that is based on a musician.

Well shot, well edited, big budget piece of crap with a good political message. A technically brilliant dumb movie. Thanks for wasting my night, the actors' talent, netflix's money and an opportunity to make a good film on this topic.

Being his first film Tharun has done an excellent job; 10/10 for his hardwork. Casting is very good and all actors did their part amazingly well. Binu Papu's and Lukman's best till date. That 'to be continued' gives me hope. Make a sequel guys.

Raatchasan (2018)

Ratsasan is the most overrated film in Indian cinema. Other than a few brilliant actors and good background score this movie is absolute garbage. How can you even call this a psychological thriller? Do you people even know what "psychological" thriller is?

A below average flick with unnecessarily jumpscares, pointless dialogues, intense background scores, good cinematography, stupid characters and a ton of plotholes/illogical stuff.

Fafa = overdramatic. Soubin = Ambily in casuals. I adore their acting skills but this one was a big disappointment.

Lost all my respect to the people behind this movie. It was a painful watch. A big black mark for malayalam cinema. Omar Lulu movies are at least bearable in comparison. Lal and son, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. How much more offensive can you be? I wonder who these kind of movies are made for.

A good sequel with minor flaws. After the let downs like Big Brother and Ittymani lalettan's charm is kinda back in this one. The evergreen lalettan? No, a pinch of odiyan is still present in him.

Malayalam film industry is evolving and this one is a great example. Wonderfully visualised movie. The first half was so gripping and second half was emotional. Performances were amazing. I often felt like I was a part of the movie and the characters were people I know. It's very engaging. Thanks for the experience.

A total waste of talent, time and money. I really like Greg and I was very excited to see him in a lead role. Very bad selection of script. Can't believe DQ greenlit this project.

The movie was only 1hr 50mins long but it felt like an eon. Very slow and laggy. Cinematography was good. Music was welldone but a little overpowering. It's a musical. Although the actors gave their best the storyline was too cringey to take them seriously. Avoidable movie.

The screenplay could've been better. First half was the absolute best. Was really engaging and you will be eager to know what's coming next. The second half was a bit laggy and had many unnecessary scenes. Kudos to the team for taking such a serious and important social issue of religion, pseudoscience and the business behind it. Everyone on the technical side of the movie did and amazing job. Should I say anything about Fahad? You people know he is the best. Flawless performance.

A short plot stretched for no apparent reason. 2.5 hours of runtime for such a simple plot. Would've been a better film of it had a b plot or something of that sort. It was very entertaining in the begining but the scenes and settings keep repeating several times to fill in the duration. The movie is just too long. Acting performances were great, music was good and cinematography was also pretty good, other than that it was just an average or below average movie. 5/10.

Watched on amazon prime thankfully. Was a total waste of time. Such a great actor like mohanlal shouldn't have signed this mediocre movie. Even his performance was very bad in this one. Siddique should consider doing soap operas rather than feature films if he wants to survive. Dude is so overrated.
