With love as a background
10 September 2006
For us constantly in and out of love, this may be an important lesson on the need to be honest to the one we love and not make assumptions on something that so much conditions the success our option to share our existence. Our caring gardener can't help to (and also we, by the hand of the director) suspect and assume that his trust is not respected and corresponded. The character of Ralph Fiennes finally finds it otherwise, even though unavoidably too late, and turns into a martyr as, moved by the love for another, shows the ultimate love for every other. Once again, Fernando Meirelles shows us (this time in the background but along with the message that we can and should do our little bit about it) the alternate and miserable existence of so many misfortune's and contemporary equals to us all.

Any Place But Home (1997 TV Movie)
6/10
Great actress
5 April 2005
If I was to vote for the cast, someone would get the whole 10. Why is it that Mary Page Keller doesn't come up more on Hollywood movies? Impossible not to fall with her... For the rest (the movie), the best that I can say is that I did not switch to the next channel each time MJK got off the scene, so... The plot was (obviously) not to thick, but also not too shallow, I guess... But, then again, "Roberta" was clearly the most convincing character of the lot, and the one that got me glued on to the TV set. Nice TV movie, for late night TV starers, though still not sleepy (wich is good, for the movies' sake). Nothing else to say, but that one shouldn't be forced to get to the tenth line by saying that one can't find any decent (and I mean "decent") photo of the beautiful Mary Page Keller. Help me, if you can...
