The Purge: Election Year (2016)
All that over a candy bar?!
The Purge: Election Year is a good suspenseful movie that is sure to make you just at least 2-3 times throughout the movie. I thought the plot was pretty good and the acting was good except for the candy girls (You'll understand who I am referring to when you see the movie) I felt they are a bit over-the-top in every aspect of their character. But they do get what they deserve in the end. However, they did stay true to the nature of the Purge series and of a typical thriller/horror genre movie, even killing all the black ppl at the end; even the guy they brought back from the 1st one. This movie is funny, gory and engaging. Recommended for appropriately aged audience.
Sunday School (2008)
Sunday School Attendee.
On the contrary to Mattmckoble, I think this movie was really good. It made me laugh a lot and I thought for a 10,000 budget in 2008 it looks fairly decent. The sound wasn't the best but again it's a 10,000 movie in 2008. I thought the acting was fairly good too. I mean you had some over the top moments but I feel it was done on purpose for laughs. I think it would have been more realistic if Rachel would have gotten raped...more dramatic but it seems most Christian movies can't go into issue that raw and deep. Which is why I am getting into Christian film myself so we can deal with the real issues (believe it or not, Christians have to go thru a lot of heart- wrenching, life-threatening things in life and need movies that will address these issues in a biblical way). Sunday School seemed very Tyler Perry-ish but I actually enjoyed this movie more than the last Madea movie I saw. Overall liked it and would like to see more like it.
