The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping (2024)
Sometimes I drive past the academy in Bridge Oregon
It's closed down now and has been for years but they were ran by the same WWASP seminar bs. Every time I drove past it, I would get creepy bad vibes and after doing some research on it a couple years ago, I found out why. So many people online had horrible stories just like the ones shared in this documentary.
Bridge is isolated, nowhere near waking distance to anything but two lanes highway and never ending trees. There would be nowhere to go. No one to listen.
I found out they also had a sister school but they would send kids here from Fiji where again, the abuse was horrific.
The empty shell of the building in Oregon is all that's left of it but I'm sure the memories for those troubled teens sent there to "reform" live on.
I'd be curious to hear if anyone has any other stories or information about the Bridge academy or any others around the world. I'll definitely be picking up my journal and delving back into more research after watching this.
This was a very informative documentary, very well done, and told by a highly intelligent and brave group of people who lived it. I'm so sorry for anyone who had to go through any of this.
Funhouse (2019)
WOW! Society isn't too far from going THIS crazy... Perfectly executed!
It's like big brother meets horror but such much better! The writing was so original and shock worthy. It had everything! Tons of impressive gore, entertaining characters, sex, heart breaking moments, nail biting tension, and twists and turns around every corner. I really caught myself self reflecting and it made me feel so guilty to enjoy this so much. AM I just as bad as the viewers that voted on their deaths? Just Crazy!!! It's for sure my new top five horror movie! Go watch this now!
Outer Banks (2020)
This was so much better than I expected!
I binged it in two days. After the first few episodes, it's non stop action. It had the perfect amount of romance, action, and emotional parts. It's more than just a teen drama. And those kids could act!
In Your Eyes (2014)
I am so thankful that I found this movie!
I was skimming through Netflix and noticed this hidden gem. I normally ignore the newer things Netflix puts up especially when I've heard nothing about the movie even though it had come out this year. But i saw some other reviews on IMDb and thought, what the heck? I'll give it a try. I am so glad I did! I could not keep my eyes off of it. The acting is just amazing! The story had me hooked from the first scene. It is so much more than just a supernatural love story. The characters are so believable even though they're in an unrealistic setting. In Your Eyes is now in my top favorites and I cannot recommend this movie enough! It may not be for everybody but you don't want to risk the chance of never finding out.
Parenthood (2010)
Beautifully written, amazing acting!
Every episode opens your mind and touches your heart. I am so thankful for this show. It really reminds you that no matter how bad your family can be, you can get through anything no matter how big or small the family or the problem. I laugh out loud and ball my eyes out at the same time nearly every episode. Parenthood hits the spot! From a member of the family who has a disability, drug problem, homelessness, rebellion, loss, love, and/or a little bit of everything else. Even the music they choose is beautiful and so right for the script. Parenthood has yet to let me down and I hope it stays around for a very long time. It's the perfect show for anyone. I love, love, love it!
Lo imposible (2012)
Good movie but far too drawn out!
The Impossible is no doubt a heart-wrenching true story that tugs on all the right strings BUT the lingering stares and slow motioned pauses tend to make you frustrated. No one needs to watch them gaze back and forth for 30 seconds every ten minutes to understand or feel the emotions they were going through. I had very high hopes for this movie especially because the true life story was something I begged a year ago to become a movie so we could even get a glimpse of the horror that this family survived and because it is the true history that happened and forever changed the world and brought awareness to this very unexpected natural disaster. Don't get me wrong, the acting from the kids especially was SUPERB! And yes, I cried. I just wish they hadn't drawn out the unimportant parts, that's all.
