Terror Train (2022)

Unimaginative

Dull supposed horror movie. I didn't realise this was a remake until afterwards so it fits that it is bad as with 99% of remakes.

The acting is nothing special although I've saw much worse. The characters are obnoxious and unlikeable so you're rooting for the killer. Who can't despatch them quick enough.

The political correctness is of course peppered throughout the film. They must not be able to get financed unless this crap is included despite the fact that this is a proven turnoff for moviegoers.

I'll have to watch the original and compare for myself and I do hope that it's better than this rubbish.

Not the send off we wanted
26 October 2022
Ugh. They really phoned this one in. My gripes about this film are much the same as the seemingly vast majority - Not enough Michael!!

The introduction of Corey was a bold move. But one that didn't pay off. If this was to be the final chapter they really should have made Mr Myers the focal point. Instead we get a slow build up to his eventual appearance by which time the movie is half done. I, like most fans of this franchise, were disappointed by this strange direction. It might have worked if the Corey character was introduced in one of the earlier films and gradually tied in to the finale but alas, it wasn't.

Gore heavy
26 October 2022
Following on from the 2016 standalone movie. We find our hero back to his old tricks, albeit with the gore dial ramped up.

Strangely long for a horror movie coming in around the two hours and twenty minutes mark. I feel a better movie could have been made in ninety minutes.

I saw reports that some people fainted and vomited during the cinematic release but to be frank I smelt a rat. Seemed more like a marketing tactic than anything. There are some scenes where less than hardened horror viewing regulars might find somewhat unsavoury but the prolonged and graphic deaths are really just for shock value.

Story wise, It doesn't really make a lot of sense but it's still enjoyable if you can suspend disbelief for a couple of hours.

Awful

I don't know how this tripe gets made. The acting is just laughable to the point where you almost cringe every time a character says a line.

I saw the picture for this movie and thought it looked like a Ghostrider rip off. Which it kind of is. But on a shoestring budget.

The villains are particularly bad, especially the main boss - Angel. A kind of Julian Sands lookalike who tries to sound like Agent Smith from The Matrix.

The one saving grace is Amanda Jones who plays Sophia. She does well enough despite the diabolical script. But even that will leave most movie fans wishing they'd never wasted their time.

Utter garbage

Leave this well alone. The acting in a child's Christmas play would be better than this.

Run of the mill
17 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
If you have seen anything horror related as of late (think along the lines of The Conjuring, Insidious etc) then this shall really come as no real surprise to fans of these types of movies.

Decent enough backstory and the acting is fine but too reliant on jump scares and frankly brings nothing new to an over-saturated genre.

A typical modern horror movie - bad
17 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty much the same as any horror movie coming out these days - terrible. You might get the impression that you are about to see a 80s style slasher until this takes a somewhat unusual twist. This will go down well with horror enthusiasts but anyone not overly enamored by the genre will probably stop watching halfway (or less) through. One redeeming feature is the perfect naked body of Dal Nicole which truly is the star of the show.

More of the same innit?
14 August 2016
Not exactly picking off where the first film ended,The viewer will find themselves thrust into the rough end of London and mixing it with the hard men who run the manors. Mo, an Asian cop (read: Muslim) undercover with Shadwell FC attempts to infiltrate the clubs firm and shut it down from the inside. Along the way he meets an other undercover officer with a different type of mission and the two men become allies. The action isn't as realistic as the original and the story is kind of hackneyed. One saving grace is the return of lovable tard Gumbo, who appeared in the original and offers some light comic relief. All in all this has too cheap a feel to it and the fights scenes are simply not realistic enough.

Good Kill (2014)

Another Ethan Hawke turkey.
4 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This film focuses on Hawke's grounded fighter pilot adapting to his new role as a remote drone operator. Along with a sexy new sidekick, The duo struggle to come to terms with the job at hand. Apart from a few lame sub plots that about sums up this effort. Too much moralizing and war clichés ("I don't know if this is a just war" etc, you get the picture)and too little close up action make this a real bore of a movie. One saving grace though is January Jones. Playing Hawkes long suffering wife she oozes sex appeal throughout. On a final note, any feminist watching this might think that the aerial shots were over a Frat house. The film makers should probably clarify this isn't the case. Perhaps a few trigger warnings too?
