Star Trek: Discovery: Stormy Weather (2021)
Just when I thought it was getting better
The previous episode was so good it gave me hope STD will stop being the "diseased" series of the Star Trek franchise.
And yet, here we go again. When everyone is complaining from day one that this is the Michael Burnham show, they are now faced with a situation where all the crew has to get put into stasis and of course only the Captain (once again) can again save the day (when they have a sentient computer and an android on board as more obvious choices).
At least in Voyager's original episode of this copycat scenario ("One" episode 25 of Season 4) it made sense that only a Borg (a robot) and a holographic doctor stayed out of stasis and couldn't be harmed by the anamoly but here nothing makes sense. The bridge got litteraly on fire in the end and seconds later Michael hasn't got a scratch on her in sickbay.
Even when you buy this season on DVD, only Michael Burnham (or Senequa what's her name I can't even remember correctly) is on the cover sleeve of the box set when if you buy Picard or any other Star Trek series box sets you always have all the cast or complete crew on the front sleeve of the DVDs.
Again, proof if need be that this is not Star Trek this is indeed :
The Michael Burnham Show.
Star Trek: Discovery: The Examples (2021)
Wow, a proper Star Trek worthy episode for once !
I don't know if it is the numerous Star Trek Voyager references (the U. S. S. Janeway or the mentionning of the Nacene race : the Caratakers) that makes this episode worthwhile but it is, for once.
This is a major improvment, especially after the previous episode where the redhead girl manage to have one of her cadets killed and still gets to become a cadet trainer.
There is a dilemma, there is humor and there you got a decent episode that makes you think after you watched it. Well done.
For once, Star Trek Discovery feels like Star Trek.
I hope there is still hope for the Michael Burnham show i guess then.
Thumbs up. Keep up the good work. This time I'm stunned and I don't feel like I'm wasting my time watching this.
Krypton: The Alpha and the Omega (2019)
Not a proper ending but a decent episode and a good show.
Since Krypton wasn't renewed for a 3rd season, I was expecting all lose-ends to be wrapped up. Instead we got a new direction and a thousand questions to be answered in a new season that will never be. Shame.I really wish another Network would pursue it.
But this episode was enjoyable nonetheless and so was Krypton in general. It took me one episode or two to get used to this series but pretty quickly I was hooked because the stories were good, the cast : good and evil were interresting and even the acting was pretty decent if not perfectly mastered by all the actors.
As a fan of Superman I've watched almost all the series so far (superboy, lois & clark, smallville, supergirl etc.) and like them all, Krypton didn't disappoint me. So I urge everyone to give Krypton a try : it's not a perfect, it has some flaws but in retrospect now that I've seen it all, i really believe that it really was worth my time and that it might also be worthy of yours if you give it a proper chance.
Breaking Bad: Fifty-One (2012)
Love this show but I really hate Skyler here.
I had to come here to see if I was the only was who was hating that much Skyler here. I was never very found off of her in the first place, like someone has already written here, she always was the buzzkill in an overwise very great and entertaining show. But she really jumped the shark here and so were the writers.
How can someone who reacts like that could really exist, I don't know. I cannot stress enough how YOU CANNOT love someone as much as having kids with him to end HATING HIM so much that you wish him cancer. WTF is that ?!
It's really unbelieveable. What a biatch ! I'm glad to notice that I'm not the only one who hated her here. This character really becomes annoying to the point that you really wish her to be dead in this damn pool scene.
The show kept getting better and better but I believe that Season Four can't be matched. I don't know how it is going to end but I can already say that it's a very great and entertaining show through and through but I really wish the character of Skyler will mellow in the end. Or else, she might as well really die as far as I am concerned.
The Orville (2017)
The best sci-fi series on TV today, good old Star Trek is back !
This show is great. My sister and I are both Star Trek fans and we are addicted, we love it.
Some people say that the crude humor in Season 1 had to go, I, on the contrary found the first 3 episodes of Season 2 more dry and less fun because of it lacked humor and seem to took itself too seriously. But thankfully now the humor is back on and the show's feel is again, back on track (or should I say on Trek) :)
I grew up with TNG, DS9, VOYAGER and ENTERPRISE and only discovered TOS much later but I like all Star Trek (even Discovery a little bit) but to me : this is the REAL Star Trek. Sometimes it's even better that TNG and VOY and these are my favorite Star Trek shows ever.
The end of "The Orville" season 1 was a blast, great stories, great special effects, nice take on our world of today. I hope the end of Season 2 will be the same. But if the episodes "Identity" part 1 and 2 are an indication : they got it right.
I can watch Discovery on occassion but "The Orville" is so much better, they are no match for them. If I had to choose, no matter the season (1 or 2) right now, it's no choice at all, I'm on "The Orville"'s side all the way.
Great job Seth MacFarlarne, keep up the good work. We, Star Trek fans, all recognize your efforts to bring back the REAL Star Trek magic again and with those kind of stories and special guests stars from all our beloved Star Trek shows from the past (Robert Picardo, Tim Russ, John Billingsley) you can never go wrong.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Stop making sequels series look so advanced and futuristic
I know it's supposed to be a Star Trek show so they want to make it look good but the starship and its consoles looks so advanced and futuristic, how do they hope us to believe this was supposed to happened before the Kirk era, it makes no sense.
As a big Star Trek fan I was always hoping to find a new show that will explore the future further than Star Trek Voyager, why do they always look to the past now, it's ludicrous.
And if this is supposed to take place in the same universe as TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT, respect the facts already set in stone, or do something else and do not call it Star Trek.
