The Violent Heart (2020)

Wow what am insane story this is a must see drama/thriller!

I'm not going to spoil the movie for anyone reading my review. All I wanted to say is that this movie is a rollercoaster of emotions. Brilliantly written and acted by all characters. Like it says in the description; this movie will have you believing that it about A 24 year old black male who's involved with an 18 year old white girl in who's still in high school but it's so much more than that. This film states it was made in 2020 but I recently saw it on a movie website I frequent and this film was truly an unexpected gem. This was a original film for the genres it touches. 9/10.

Doors (I) (2021)

This is actually my second time watching this movie. I never gave it a chance because the first story was rather lame and poorly acted in my opinion. However, this time around I let it play was I was working on a project. I'm glad I did as the last 3 story are rather good. The second story and the last story were my favorite. The second story was very surreal and it got me to take a break from my project. The last story was unexpected. I was figuring this was going to be a movie with a completely dumb ending but I felt they really did a great job explaining what was happening. If I hadn't watched the 3 other stories I would have given this film a 3/10 like everyone else. But in total it's worth a 6/10 in my opinion.

SPOILERS: I just wanted to vent. But ffs I can see the show ending the way it did but I hope to God it ends up being a dream after they got knock out when they crashed the car in the tunnel. However, it sucks that I can can certainly see it ending the way they did. The last scene after the last scene just seemed like maybe it wasn't the case. Plus it states this show is still running 2021-

Censor (2021)

Thought it was a slow burn, turned out to be a complete bore.

Got baited by the reviews on here. This is a movie that felt like it was going to be a slow burn into something good. However, it turned out to be one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. Save you time and watch something else.

Bayonet (2018)

Character study. Very "13 Reasons Why"

Not a boxing movie however there are parts with some decent boxing action. It's basically a character study. Right from the beginning you're wondering why the main character retired from boxing. The story does a great job in keeping you entertained enough so that you stick around and hope that the reason isn't something predictable. Just like the show 13 Reasons Why. The reason was predictable with a twist.

Tales from the Loop (2020)

Whenever Amazon releases a new show I feel just from past experiences its going to be complete crap. However, as a fan of movies like Donnie Darko, It Follows, Predestination, and other films and stories of the like this peaked my interest immediately. It's setup like the movie It Follows where it's not really based in our time or place. It has a 50's look but with random advanced technology throughout the entire show (love it). Its a very well written show with each story blending together that touches base on a lot of time dialation/sci fi topics with a blend of human emotions that makes you think; would I do the same? I really love this show because it has now even given me different things to think about and I feel that if this show does anything it does just that. 8/10 I hope this catches on.

The Outsider (2020)

First two episodes were great. The rest, not so much.

This show is probably the worst HBO series ever made. I've never read the book but from everything I've watched this could have been in a 3 or 4 part mini series.

Black Christmas (2019)

I admit, I have never seen the 1970's version of this movie. However, I have seen the 2006 version and thought that, that was an excellent addition to the Christmas Horror genre. So much so I still hold the 2006 version as the best Christmas Horror movie to date. The setting of both movies are the same dealing with someone/something killing sisters in a sorority house around christmas vacation. However, that's about it. This movie did have a twist that I should have saw coming but i like to watch movies while making models so I wasn't keen on thinking about why the camera showed a certain scene but for those who don't do what I do I would assume it would be seemingly predictable. This movie focuses of female empowerment between the sisters and feminism as the main theme. It's really just a movie that digs at Male ego. The filming of this was top notch so props to the camera crew and director. But this just wasn't my cup of tea.

Don't Let Go (2019)

One of the best time dilation movies I've seen in a few years

To begin, I just wanted to state that the producers always hire an all African American crew of actors/actresses for their movies. Which is their personal right, but that may not be everyones cup of tea. I've watched, Get Out (I felt it was over rated but the idea of it was pretty neat I'd probably give that a 6/10) and I watched the movie, Us (It was the dumbest movie I have ever scene. The idea and the commercial sounded like it was going to be great but it bombed. Everything was bad about that movie. The cast, the writing, and the execution of it was just down right terrible. This movie however is a must see. I love any time dilation movies. Donnie Darko, Interstellar, and Predestination just to name a few. A lot of people are relating this to the movie to, Frequency and they are correct to say that. But personally this movie was a much better version. The idea isn't truly original but the acting, the plot, the twists, the turns, this movie has it all! Definitely on my top 5 time dilation movies. Remember this movie is a fantasy/sci-fi horror. If you're one to argue over the logic of how tf one cell phone can place calls 2 weeks into the future; I wouldn't recommend this for you. If you can just let it play and just push past that logic I'd def reccomend this. 8/10.

Cosmos (I) (2019)

SPOILER: MOVIE SUCKS.

I don't write reviews often but I just wanted to say a few things about this pile of s***. The acting in this movie is hands down the worst I've ever witnessed. The character's and their personality makes it seem like they are aliens to one another. Sorry for generalizing ppl by their looks here but this was so bad I didnt even care to learn their names. You got the brown dude who tries to play off as being super intelligent and defensive. You got the new guy to the crew with a 6 year old's childish innocent. You know what F it. Just dont watch this terrible movie.

Night Hunter (2018)

Excellent movie with plot twists

The movie as a whole I give a 7/10. I at first was going to give this a 6/10 but this movie seems original. I've never seen a movie with this kind of premise. However, the movie has a few plot holes. Not going to say it of course but if you think carefully about what is going on you'll know what I mean.

Light of My Life (I) (2019)

....If you've watched, "The Road" you may want to pass on this one.

TL;DR Version - The movie is predictable and very un original. The acting is good and had my heart pumping a few times. The people praising this movies Producer must be good friends or something because it's basically the movie, "The Road" with no key differences or added creativity.

I would have given this movie 4/10 stars but I'll briefly explain why I gave it a 6/10. The acting was decent and honestly it had my heart pumping at times.

However, the story line is super predictable and there really isn't any key differences in the plot if you've watched movies like, I am Legend, The book of Eli, and The Road. The Road especially because when I was watching this I had major dejavu thinking that I've seen this before. (Infact I basically have) If you've watched, "The Road" before viewing this, it's not really worth the 2 hrs of watching it. The reason I'm giving this movie a 6/10 is because if I had never seen the movies I've mentioned above this I would say it's a decent movie.

So, in conclusion I wish Hollywood would stop churning out all these post apocalyptic movies until they find a plot that hasnt been seen before.

Us (II) (2019)

How are people giving this movie 7+ Stars???

Someone here said better then I could; his movie tries to be a horror and comedy and fails at both. I honestly have no idea how people are giving this movie 7+ stars. It wasnt scary in a sense of "jump scares" and lacked suspense that most good horror movies have. I wouldn't say this was completely terrible but I won't watch it again.

High Life (2018)

2 hours of my life I'll never get back

This was a huge waste of time. The story drew out wayyy too much leaving viewers. The concept was a great idea. The weird and mostly silent movie drew out way to long. This film moved super slow making me want to watch to see if it had a plot twist ending.

PS this film contains scenes of dudes jacking off into a cup for artificial insemination
