Nothing Is Cool (1991)
great!
One of the best bands bands of that era...feel good, fast paced, softly-sung, English alternative music. Not one bad song on this movie, as all are taken from the flawless "Godfodder" album...one of my favorite albums of all time. This movie really captures what we perceive as "Generation X", and the rebellious vibe of the mid 90's. Wrong Turn (2003)
Classic
I've see a lot of "disses" as far as this movie goes. I have a unique perception on horror films: I love them, but I'm never scared by them. This movie, on the other hand, actually had me up on the couch, white-knuckled for most of the movie. Believable characters (some of you would call this bad-acting), original, high-energy situations (ie. the tree scenes). For those of you that complain the 3 inbreeds were too "supernatural"....it's a freaking HORROR film!! And a damn good one. I'll close this comment with 2 things.
1. Wrong Turn gets 4 out of 5 as a great horror flick
2. The other, most recent greats are: 28 Days (love the fast zombies) Cabin Fever (i'm a hypochondriac, if you're not, it's a stupid movie, i know) Saw (what a classic).
And by the way... Wrong turn was better than the TCM remake BY FAR!! The DOTD remake was garbage. I couldn't cut through the cheese.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
worst c.kaufman film
While a HUGE fan of Adaptation (one of my top 10ers) and Being John Malkovich (another great)....ESOSM is a dud.
The whole movie is spent on showing off cinemotagrophy and camera tricks, through the internal minds of these characters...and not until the end does it strike my interest. It ONLY strikes my interest at the end because it actually comes back to the story.
How long can one watch fast-paced, dizzy, dream-sequences of two people that barely get along, only to have one of them disappear and then re-appear in another place, then starting all over again in another setting?
Someone earlier compared this to Mulholland. Please don't do that.
This movie sucked...and this is coming from one fussy guy.
