EPISODE 1 : laughter and tears
14 January 2021
I've only watched this first episode and already I love it. It's a quirky comedy, that has already touched my heart. I almost forgot I was watching a show as I was so invested in these characters I'd met. Very heartwarmingly funny and sweet. A very real look at modern life and emotions, cannot wait to watch the next episode.

OBSESSED

I love this show!!! Michelle Visage is so authentically herself, giving advice and chatting with her family. It feels like a catch up with a friend every Tuesday, praying they continue this show even after quarantine!

Angry & Hurt, however, hold out until the end.
16 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The Documentary itself is great, it has fantastic filming and uses a perfect way of putting the real-life tragedy into a fitting sequence to watch. However, the story of Jan Broberg and her family, gives each viewer a real sense of confusion, hurt and disgust. The parents of Jan, were vilely selfish at points . Their choice to drop charges of a man kidnapping their own daughter so that their 'dirty laundry' would be kept a secret is horrendous as they not only abandoned any chance of keeping their daughter safe, they also put every other child in danger by doing so. At this documentary, I am heartbroken as to how anyone could do this to another human being. Yes, 'B' was by far the worst felon in the story and was a true sociopath and I do understand that the parents in some ways were manipulated and were victims to his cruel ways. But, no one should be excused from putting small and vulnerable child back out into danger because of their own mistakes - the parents may have also been rather disturbing due to these actions... and I was left wondering as to why they were never held accountable for them? The mother clearly was infatuated by 'B' during and a little after (as she whilst she explains the story, she smiles and speaks ... almost fondly of the offender.) Eventually they did realise their daughters were in danger and got away, you can see the hurt and guilt they feel, unable to forgive themselves. You can see how the father communicates with the interviewer that he is devastated, and heartbroken that he ever let it happen. During the incidents, they were more concerned of their social status and appearance on the outside and so I think that is what led to 'B' being able to carry out his abuse for so long. I think this is due to a mixture of old-fashioned ways, them coming from a small town and mostly down to the manipulation they all suffered from 'B'. Even the brother is presented as a little bit sick himself, his use of words such as saying the mother wanting Jan back 'was making a lot of fuss' and that he had never seen his brother happier than whilst with Jan. That, even though, it was with 'a little girl, I guess that was his deal', which makes you feel rather queasy.

Overall I would stick out the documentary until the end. I find that the creators purposefully gathered the most recent feelings about and around the suffering to put at the end to show how the family are still trying to recover from their mistakes and what happened. It is a really bizarre and scary story but it needs to be told to the world, to warn how even the people you call your closest, can put you in the most danger.

Not just your average sitcom!
13 February 2019
This TV show shows the true struggles of everyday life and growing up, it shows the battles of finding yourself in your teen years, the struggle of single motherhood, challenging cultures demoralising old-fashioned ways whether it's sexuality or strength, mental health issues and so on. Made me laugh and cry throughout, I have binge watched the first two seasons in two days! If you like sitcoms, you will love this one - it connects to every viewer and doesn't hide from some of life's hard truths. Not only are the messages behind the show great but the acting is fantastic too! At some points it is super light hearted and at other points can be very heartbreaking, however throughout it carries important family values and life lessons. Love Love Love.

How I Met Your Mother: Bedtime Stories (2013)

A RHYMING EPISODE
27 January 2019
I don't understand the low ratings!!!! One of my favourite episodes as it's so sweet and takes away from the business of the final series! I can image it was just as much fun to film as it was for me, the writing is clever as they manage to make a whole 20+ minutes into a children's story of the gangs mistakes and life lessons. Love it.

IGNORE ALL BAD REVIEWS!
27 January 2019
I admit - you could say how I met your mother is another mindless sitcom HOWEVER that is why it is so enjoyable! You can really relax and just enjoy the tv series, I am a big fan of friends, and yes some of the plot is similar, but the plot of how I met your mother all makes sense! They have carefully made all dates and plot lines fit it together and don't make any slip ups! Would recommend to anyone wanting a funny and relatable tv show to binge watch :)
