The Tom Green Show (1999)
...The Canadian Show, not the MTV one (1999-2001)
A lot of people will not understand the appeal of Tom Green, especially if you are from the US and have only known him through the notoriously base version of the Tom Green Show shown on MTV in 1999. In regards to the Canadian version of the Tom Green Show shown on the Comedy Network (1997-1999), it was not a show for everyone. I personally found it hilarious and probably shaped the way I viewed what is humorous and what isn't. Just for a point of comparison, currently I like shows like "Mr. Show with Bob and David", "MTV's the State", "Arrested Development", "Reno 911". I think The Tom Green Show (1997-1999) is perfect for those who like raw, unfiltered, absurdist humour.
Mong foo sing lung (1990)
Not bad
This movie is above average compared to other films of the genre. The two leads went on to become huge stars in Asia, and this movie shows why. They are both witty, and they make you care about what happens to their characters. The references can be a little dated, but what film reference isn't dated in ever-changing Hong Kong?
This movie is about a newlywed couple who tries to make it on their own after they eloped, much to Sandra Ng's father's chagrin. Sandra works hard for minimum wage to pave way for Stephen Chow to climb up the social ladder.
As Stephen gets promoted, a rift develops in their relationship due to a misunderstanding - surprise, surprise. The ending is predictable but it does not sell out.
