Liz & Dick (2012)
Sorry Liz, you don't deserve this
I am in shock that this movie ever aired.
How can anyone think Lindsay Lohan could play Liz Taylor. She can't hold a candle to her. I was born in 1963 and something draw me to Liz and Dick. It was one of those love stories you couldn't pass on.
I was so excited when they remarried.
This movie is not even worth me talking about it and I am so glad that neither Liz nor Richard have to see it.
Liz, we will not remember you by this movie, but by the person you were.
Beautiful, an icon, unforgettable movies, and a real bad perfume ;-)
The Wonderful World of Disney: Eloise at Christmastime (2003)
So sweet, I'll watch it again
I happened to come across this movie by accident. I had a bad cold and nothing looked good enough for me to watch. So I gave this movie a chance and all I can say is, I'm glad I did. It took my mind off me feeling bad and sucked me into Eloises world.
I don't know why anybody would call her a spoiled brat. She is a very sweet loving girl that happens to live in the Plaza as her (rich) mom is never there for her. All she has is her Nanny (wonderful Julie Andrews) and all the guests and staff at the Plaza. Yes, in the beginning you might be tempted to find her annoying, but this will change real quick and you will fall in love with her. I know I did.
Kudos to the girl who played Eloise, wonderful job, hope to see her again in another movie.
So anyway, I think it teaches us that money might help but is not the most important thing.
Naughty or Nice (2011)
Sit back and enjoy, I know I did
Just finished watching this movie and I have to say I liked it a lot. This might not be a big surprise as I am all over Christmas movies and always looking forward for the most recent ones I haven't seen yet. Like always, it's not an award winning story or performance but it fits right in to the holiday time.
And I really liked the deeper meaning of the naughty or nice story.
We finally might look at it in a different way. Or not as we know there is no such thing as Santa or a naughty and nice list, or is there??? ;-)
Just lean back, maybe get some pop corn and enjoy and if you are a little bit like me, relax a bit more as you realize there is some truth to it and nothing in life is that bad that you can't change it.
It's a feel good movie, I can only recommend for this time of the year.
Sissi (1955)
Sweet Romy, Sissi was a blessing and a curse for her
I am German and I grew up with the Sissi Trilogy and it still is on my yearly watch list for Christmas. Of course I had to order the DVD as they don't show it here on TV.
It's not a Christmas movie but it was always aired around Christmas in Germany.
The historical facts could't be more inaccurate, but the movie still makes you feel good.
Romy Schneider was in real life almost as tragic as Sissi. She lost her son in a tragic accident and never recovered from that loss, they say so did Sissi, when her firstborn died being only 2 years old.
Both never had the relationships they were hoping for and traveled and left their country.
But back to the movie. Just watch it for what it is, 90 minutes of beautiful scenery, dresses, music and more from an era long gone.
Just sit back, laugh with them, cry with them and have a good time
A Dog Named Christmas (2009)
Love it
One of the most heartwarming beautiful movies I've ever watched. It is on my watch list every year for Christmas. Finally I managed to record it so I can watch it any time I want. I love animals and I love the way that boy never gave up on the idea to not only save and have one but help more dogs find a home during the most beautiful time of the year.
And the boy who played the mentally challenged kid did a wonderful job. Watch it during the holidays and you will feel the same way. Of course I am a sucker for Hallmark and Lifetime movies, but really, you gotta watch this one :-) I don't own a dog, just a cat, but if anything ever happens to me, I hope someone takes my sweetheart in like this boy did with Christmas
