I'm in denial
14 January 2023
I still can't get over the fact that this show has been cancelled. I refuse to believe it. Hulu, you are dead to me. I am still hoping for a miracle. Since this show premiered I have watched it 5 times and I am not finished. This show is new, refreshing, and real (which I realize is ironic to say, considering it is about a psychic.) I have recommended Maggie to a number of people and all have felt the same as I, that this show is something that is not only welcomed, but is NEEDED in our current climate. We need more fun, relatable comedy. Is this show life-changing? No. Is this good, pure, fun entertainment? Yes. Every character is relatable, lovable, and not over-exaggerated. I am still praying for a miracle; that this show will be revived. I need more Louise in my life.

Persuasion (I) (2022)

It's Fleabag meets Persuasion

I don't normally submit reviews but I cannot sit idly by while others review this film negatively. I fear the ones who've rate this film lowly do not understand Jane Austen as they claim. They've not read how conniving, dark, and satirical Jane can be. I'm convinced this adaptation is the closest thing to perfect that we could have come in this day and age. Persuasion is one of my favorite novels, and the creators have made a currently un-relatable novel relevant to this time. The speech is modern and relatable, while staying true to Austen in her own time. My only complaints is that Dakota Johnson, whom I am not normally a fan, is not as homely as she should be. There's room for change, for growth in appearance. Otherwise, they've made a novel that wouldn't be believed in our current climate, believable. This move is almost perfection; Jane Austen would have loved it.

It's OK but......

I am a big fan of the Lizzie Bennet diaries. I am a big fan of really ANYTHING Jane Austen related but the acting in this series is the WORST. I can tolerate just about anything, even Amanda Bynes' acting but this is beyond.

Normally, I keep my opinions to myself but I had to do my part for humanity to warn of this Carrie Underwood quality of acting. It's as if the actors are having a hard time believing what they are doing. They may possibly be good actors on a normal set but are having a hard time "acting" naturally in a supposed vlog setting? Whatever the case may be, it's tough to watch.

It's a fun series. The writing is good; the storyline is clever. The casting director should have been fired.

If you are bored, sure, watch it.
