The Last Lear (2007)
Last Lear is Amitabh Bachchan's one of the best film.
Rituparno Ghosh and Amitabh Bachchan coming together for the last lear created a magic. It perhaps is one of the best films by Amitabh Bachchan. He is simply awesome in his role of Harish Mishra. The way Bachchan ji has played his part is mind blowing and for me it is one of the best film by him till date. The movie just goes on to show his versatility. Other than Bachchan ji,other casts like Preity Zinta,Arjun Rampal and Shefali Shah are equally good. They should thank Rituparno Ghosh for giving them the opportunity to work in this film. The movie though brilliant for many won't be liked by some merely because it is an art film.It is based on Shakespeare age stage actor, played by Amitabh Bachchan.I simply love this film because of one man.Amitabh Bachchan. He is one man who is brilliant in the film and I would say whether you love art film or not, watch this film to see the brilliance of Amitabh Bachchan.
Do Dooni Chaar (2010)
Rishi-Neetu pairing after a long time.
The highlight of the film was naturally the Rishi-Neetu pairing after a long time. The two are splendid together, exuding the friendship and love of a middle-aged couple. Rishi Kapoor is masterful in bringing out the common man's balancing act between the family aspirations and his spending capability, Neetu shines brightest in scenes where she even supersedes Mr Duggal in getting the job done. The cast is a delight. The story is relevant and touching. The film is a must see for all those who enjoy dramas about middle-class morality. And of course Rishi Kapoor fans who are spread across generations. It's more enjoyable than many films you've seen recently.
Mithya (2008)
Mithya is an entertainer!
Mithya is a completely different film that doesn't draw parallels with any movies of the past or present. That's because something like this has never been attempted before. And that happens to be the flip side as well, for Mithya is not everyone's cup of tea, everyone's idea of entertainment. It caters to a niche audience, those with an appetite for 'different' cinema. It's for the discerning viewer that wants a change, who wants to watch a new story unravel on celluloid.Mithya is for those people who want something 'hatke' in Bollywood. For me,Mithya is an experience that one cannot forget easily. It leaves a solid impact, especially if you're receptive to out of the box experiences.Hats off to the Planman Motion pictures for this out of the box idea and film.
Dosar (2006)
Excellent movie
Dosar,a Bengali movie, produced by Arindam Chaudhuri's Planman Productions ,one of their best movie.I have seen all their movies and this is the best.Everything, including direction, screenplay, dialogs cast is superb. Basically the story revolves around Kaushik (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and Kaberi (Konkona Sen Sharma),a happily married couple. But one day Kaushik met with an accident and get injured very badly and his wife can't leave her husband during the time of crisis even after knowing that he used to live with someone else. She cannot stop herself by fulfilling her duties towards her husband at the time of crisis. Those who haven't watch the movie must watch, its really awesome.
I Am 24 (2010)
Cant stop yourself laughing
'I M 24' is all about a man who is ready to cheat and lie to seek love since he is left with no other way. And just like a typical Hindi film, truth wins at the end.The director Saurabh Shukla succeed to create good storyline and good impact on viewers with the film.Coming over to the performances by the actors, everyone has given their best shot to their respective roles. Ranvir Shorey manages to create a sparkling chemistry with Rajat Kapoor and even actors like Vijay Raaz, Neha Dhupia and Delnaz Paul have managed to add charm to the movie despite their short roles.Apart from performance, there are lot of scenes in the movie which i find are really funny and make me laugh and surely you too if have watched it and if not,you should. These kinds of movies came are very few and you can't miss such a good storyline with lot of good performances given by these actors and there are lot of scenes in the movie in which you cant stop yourself laughing. You will surely laugh hard when you will watch the movie and after watching it,you will realize what you had missed and thank you Arindam Sir to give us such a nice movie.
Saanjhbatir Roopkathara (2002)
Pleasure to watch
Saanjhbaatir roopkathara is Anajan Das's movie. It completely belong to this man.The way he has made it is simply awesome. This movie can be considered to be his best. I am not much into watching movies but never miss excellent movies because such movies are really rare today. This movie, produced by Planman Motion Pictures is a marvel. It is one of those movies that should be seen at least once. Indrani Halder and Soumitra Chatterjee are the actors in the film.Indrani plays the role of a young dreamer with lots of dreams.Soumitra Chatterjee plays the role of her father, who ultimately helps her in achieving her dream. The movie is more of a beautiful poem executed brilliantly by Anjan Das.The brilliance of the director and his actors makes the film an absolute pleasure to watch
Rok Sako To Rok Lo (2004)
Small budget film for the masses.
RSTRL is a small budget film for not only for the youth but also for the mass of the country.Such movies should be made frequently because we all love such movies. Music is really good and catchy. Jatin Lalit is as always great. Yash Pandit makes his debut in the film and has great job as a fresher. The film also has Sunny Deol in the role of Phantom.Namrata Shirodkar plays the vital role of a the narrator. The story initially sounds too similar to many other movies but it is completely different from those. It as been made excellently by Arindam Chaudhuri, who also made his debut direction with the film. The way he has made it;it never looked like his debut film.Hats off to the versatile man who plays many roles. Not only RSTRL,I have also seen his other movies made under the Planman Motion and enjoyed them as well.Looking to many more entertaining movies by the man.
