The Brink Of (2024)
10/10
Great music; Great story
29 April 2024
I totally enjoyed both the love story and the music in this delightful indie film. The performances and the chemistry between the two stars, Nicolette Norgaard and Tim Hoffmann, were spot on.

Norgaard's coming of age performance that began as a bashful teenager and eventually culminated in a confident performer was outstanding. And Hoffmann's character also showed growth from a somewhat self-absorbed teenager to a sensitive man who became worthy of Norgaard's affections. Hoffmann has a lot of charm and charisma, and he added a lot of humor to the movie.

The singing and songwriting was wonderful, just the kind of music that lifts your spirits and stays with you long after you've heard it. I found myself humming the tunes days later.

Sit back and enjoy this sweet movie. It'll make your day.

Cabrini (2024)

I learned so much from this movie
29 April 2024
What an amazing woman nun Cabrini was. This is a piece of history unknown to many Americans that I am so happy I learned about.

The acting and sets were powerful. I really enjoyed this different kind of movie. Viewers can't help but appreciate and be amused by the spunk this tiny nun showed in dealing with extremely powerful men. Even braver for a woman at that time in history.

It's hard to imagine how poorly Italian immigrants were treated in the early nineteenth century by New Yorkers. Nun Cabrini literally saved hundreds, if not thousands of lives, through her efforts in building an orphanage and later hospitals. She is to be truly admired.

Wild trippy ride - not your typical horror film!
10 February 2018
This is not your typical horror slasher film. The name House of Demons conjures ghoulish creatures popping ut of closets ready to eat flesh. There is one traditional enough demon, but also a lot of non-traditional demons - like a manipulative cult leader and manifestations of the internal demons in the character's minds. The director here is very ambitious and creative, showing us a lot of things we haven't seen before and some things we have but in a completely different way. It's super low budget but some pretty cool things were done with what they had. Really cool cinematography and some crazy editing choices make HoD a cool and interesting watch.
