John Wick (2014)

Well made but is this film healthy for its audience?
2 June 2015
This film is well made, no doubt about it. And my reasoning for a low score has everything to do with the subject matter of the anti-hero, the obvious mkultra programing that has been incorporated into the sound design and the message of the theme song which is played more than 3 times through depictions of murder. The lyrics whale, "we don't kill the ones we love." Then suggest's we kill strangers.

The extremely violent well choreographed scenes of gun play look like a masterful ballet of bullets and blood. Which made me really wanted to like this movie and I commend the filmmakers for their skill set.

However I guarantee future "shootings" and random acts of violence will source this as material of encouragement.

The story subtly suggests that the anti-hero is not one to idolize but quickly is countered in its sound design.

Truly questionable material. I would not recommend for children or teens or anyone easily influenced by manipulation.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (2013 Video Game)

Easily one of the best games I've ever played.

This is an imaginative, beautiful experience that really moved me. Set in a fictional land, players experience controlling two characters as they set off on an adventure to save their sick father. With all the elements of a great adventure, the controls are simple yet constantly changing. The story is communicated visually using few words which makes the game available to people of every language. A creative way to show that words aren't needed to communicate even the deepest of human emotions. Downloaded as part of the Gold package for Xbox, I found myself moved by the story, the game play, simple yet requires problem solving skills. I can't recommend this game enough to those who are driven by great story. Seriously would make an incredible epic live action film, hint, hint. Easily turned into a trilogy. I hope to see more from you guys!

An incredible experience exploring the Mission based Church Movement
23 January 2015
Sons of God is more than just a documentary, its part of a global movement. This movement is leading people to forsake their lives for the cause of reaching the unreached in the name of Jesus Christ. The film depicts the undeniable power of Christ in a way that reminds me of a well crafted love song. Using commentary from world renown ministers, the film explores the lives of several, living around the world who've forsaken their lives to live as missionaries. Filmmaker Immanuel Hazeleger has really created a masterpiece, portraying the passion, the love and the endurance necessary to bravely go where few, if any, have gone before. While many films have identified the problems within Christian history, Hazeleger explores what is pure continues to be so. A refreshing and noble first effort, I'm highly looking forward to seeing what's next for the Hazeleger. Sons of God for such a time as this is an inspired vision that explores its subject masterfully. Don't take my word for it, watch the film at dutchquest.com and decided for yourself.
