I am writing reviews extremely rarely but felt obliged to after seeing the globally very positive reviews?
I was a bit young to watch the original SW trilogy when it came out so can't say I am the biggest fan but really enjoyed it. Was a student when the second trilogy arrived and must say, never hated on episodes 1, 2, 3 since there were many nice elements in them as well. The last trilogy felt like fan service and update for the younger generation and globally disappointing unlike Rogue One which for me was the best Disney did around the licence without the constraints, they had the liberty to do a GOOD movie without being a SW canon movie. Solo wasn't bad in my book but a bit weaker.
Concerning the animated series, they were interesting enough without being exceptional.
Then the Mandalorian came in and gave me hope for good series format shows that develop characters and tell stories that were not in the movies (like the animated series). It was trully great with even new filming techniques to make the actors feel more immersed and it showed. It had enough fan service to please fans of the original trilogy, but was also good enough for people discovering the universe with a story that holds.
Book of Boba Fett was definitely trying to emulate the same success but failed imo to do it as well and as the reviews confirm it, it's best episodes were the ones with the Mandalorian character.
And here we finally arrive at Obi-Wan Kenobi series that unfortunately manages to be worse than Book of Boba, but similar in the way they make the title character feel like a secondary one in some episodes. The writing is awefull, the acting mediocre at best, directing and cinematography are globally not good except for few scenes. It just feels like Disney wants to milk the cow some more by recycling the same sets and costumes in the last 3 productions they made. And they forgot to hide decent writers.
I am not putting a lower score, because there were moments in the show that were awesome, but unfortunately many were cringe worthy. Just hope that the future productions will try and listen a bit more to what the honest reviewers say and improve, and not just milk us with mediocre shows.
