Rangasthalam (2018)
Ram Charan deserves awards for Rangasthalam, do not miss it.
Chitti babu is a brat. Chitti babu is fun, warm, reliable, loving, perseverant, determined and clear headed. Oh and he is also deaf, the least important of all his other traits.
Rangasthalam is about Chitti babu and of course Closure. Imo everything needs closure - be it a bad relationship, a fight between friends or even revenge. Sukumar showed us how important it is to have a closure even in retribution. And trust me, it is efficaciously satisfying to watch.
What's good:
Ram Charan all the way! Boy oh boy, wasn't he fantastic. From a person who wasn't great with expressions to someone who even emoted in dances let alone the important scenes in the film, he did it prodigiously.
The journey was prolonged i agree, but he is here to stay!
Whatever he did for this film, he most definitely should continue forever. Charan totally blended into the character without any inhibitions. He completely let him loose. Ram Charan sure loved playing Chitti babu - the result, we loved him even more on screen.
- The nitty gritties of the 80's - Dressing, slang, vehicles, glasses / bottles, telephone and all other props used, were flawless
- Aadhi was phenomenal. Nothing more or nothing less, he was just appropriate.
- Anasuya bharadwaj was the biggest surprise. She is guaranteed to get some more meaty roles in TFI. She was matured, beautiful, dominant and considerate. Fab i would say.
- DOP, BGM and other aesthetics were top notch.
- Prakash raj, Jagapathi babu & Samantha played their part well.
What's not so good: Samantha although looked power packed was under utilized. Her character didn't leave an impression on me. High expectations on Jagapathi babu did let me down a teeny bit.
Final Take: More than any of us Chiru would be the most happiest person watching his son perform in such great intense. Ram Charan deserves awards for Rangasthalam, do not miss it. Go watch it on a big screen.
