Trigun Stampede readapts material from the Trigun universe. (Note: the original adaptation is not 1:1 either.)
It took a few episodes to get into the CGI or for the CGI to feel perfected (it's hard to say which). And the difference might turn off those with heavy nostalgia for the original adaptation. Those coming from other Trigun sources or who are newcomers will have less entrenchment here.
The series was very worth it.
Watchers or the 1998 Trigun will notice similarities and diffrences.
The most glaring differences are:
a change in order of events and Stampede starting earlier than '98. Stampede begins prior to episode 1 of '98.
A change in atmosphere. ('98s was perfection, genius and untouchable, Stampede is a different direction and the characters grow on you. More Treasure Planet vibes. )
More backstory and a lot being built up by the end. This is very worth watching for. If you weren't sure about how '98 ended, this is for you.
Overall, a must watch and a great addition to the season. I have to rate this highly.
