Three on a Date (1978 TV Movie)
It's an enjoyable diversion.
1 June 2004
Hi, Guys!

For what it's worth, I saw this TV movie about a month after I graduated from college. And I found it to be a delightful bit of escapist fluff which was fairly typical of a lot of TV/TV movies of that time, i.e., the late 1970's. It was good for a laugh with its easy direction and writing and pleasant cast. It also reached back to the 1950's, in that, the protagonists all seemed self-actualized towards the film's end and ready to lead more productive and meaningful lives. Like I said, delightful fluff!

If you're looking for something that explains the human condition or plumbs the depths of the human equation, please watch "Schindler's List", "Sophie's Choice", or "Ordinary People". But it you're looking for a pleasant diversion for about 2 hours, "Three on a date" is the deal.

Sincerely, Perry Bland
