Supercroc (2007)

But i LIKE bad movies.....
11 April 2007
OK, i understand it's a bad movie, but is it a truly BAD movie? Because there is true genius to be found in good BAD movies. Different standards have to be applied to BAD movies. Roger Corman made an entire career out of cranking out schlocky B monster movies that entertain a generation of film geeks. It is amazing what he accomplished with the budget that they had back then.

Supercroc is not a Hollywood blockbuster, it was never meant to be. It's cheap and there's hardly any Croc at all. It never aspires to be more then what it really is, a monster movie made for pennies on the dollar purely for the sake of killing the people off one by one. You KNOW the drill, you KNOW what to expect. Grab the bucket of popcorn, sit back and start the lottery going on who it is to get knocked off first. Will it be the plucky but timid girl out for her first adventure?? The token minority?? The mom who is going thru a tough divorce? Mr Hooper... oops, he's already dead. The guy in the red shirt....... well, you get the drift.

Warm summer day, good friend, great convo - nuff sed
23 November 2006
I loved this movie!! It's two guys hanging out and having a conversation about nothing, on the wonderful white isle of Ibiza. Maybe it brings back fond memories of many days in summer spent doing the exact same thing. The pace of this movie made me feel like i was there, just hanging out with the characters. The movie is one long, uninterrupted conversation, the kind you have with your best friends, just going whith the flow. It's like a warm blankie on a cold day, or in this case, would it be a cool drink of water on a hot summer's day? Whatever the cliché, this movie brought a big smile to my face. I hope they do the sequel, i'll be the first to buy a ticket. I highly recommend seeing this movie.

Hillside Cannibals (2006 Video)

A low budget but surprisingly decent cannibal flick - beyond that, it's good to go
22 May 2006
There's some scary stuff here – the Blockbuster guy doesn't know what he's talking about. He's only rating the box and didn't see the movie. This is an ultra-low-budget desert-cannibal flick that takes the Scottish cannibal clan and puts them in the Mojave Desert. They obviously couldn't afford to go to Scotland but it's a modern day Sawney Bean tribe with ragged kilts and tons of prosthetic scar tissue. Sawney Bean never really existed – it's an English urban legend. There's no real historical basis so they clearly went with tons of blood and guts. Not a whole lot of story either but it is genuinely gross. I loved the violence, these wackos sure like their fingers. I liked this more than the recent "Hills Have Eyes" remake, which sucked big time. This movie is really inventively disgusting. There's lots of violence, some dubious acting but it's all worth it for the ending, which is sick and twisted and cool.

Straight to DVD
23 December 2005
wow. I've seen plenty of bad horror movies, and this ranks up there with the worst of them. The cast can't act, because they deliver their lines like porno actresses do, badly. And just like porn, the lines are almost an afterthought, but as least in porn there's a payout at the climax. In horror movies, the payout has to be a gory death, and there is at least one in this movie, but one death amongst all the bad dialogue does not a good movie make. The studio WAS going to release this straight to video, but because of internet "BUZZ", they're going to give it a theatrical release in Feburary. Can i start enough of a buzz to send it BACK to video???
