El Habayeb Restaurant (2024)
Lost opportunity
While the premise had potential, the show is ultimately marred by a poorly written script. Seriously, four individuals are tasked with opening a restaurant-four! Is this a show aimed at children?
A well-known chef inexplicably elevates a street cook (kinda chef) to the role of head chef without even sampling the rest of his cooking.
Though the show features some beautiful elements, such as the emotional scene in ep 1 with the lead's mother, it tragically serves as a clumsy imitation of renowned cooking shows. The acting is lackluster, and the storylines feel contrived, leaving viewers craving something more substantial. Culinary art thrives on passion and depth, this show disappointingly falls flat.
The only reason people will watch and love this is because the two lead actors seem like they're dating in real life or something; there's clear chemistry between them.
I didn't like that, immediately after he broke up with his longtime fiancée, he was flirting with the lead actress. Come on, give him some time.
The Bear (2022)
Realistic big fan review
I decided to write this review after watching Episode 7 of Season 2. At first, I thought, "No, I don't want to watch an episode about Richard," but the idea of Richard working in a Michelin-star restaurant is both funny and creative. Seeing him improve and fit in is incredibly satisfying; it's like therapy.
Before starting this, I was bored watching another show about an angry chef. The concept seemed dull, but then I fell in love with Carmen and his backstory. Over time, I loved them all and wanted them to succeed.
If you haven't watched Season 3, skip to the next paragraph.
Let me tell you why the writers destroyed this show in Season 3. I think the writers, like Carmy, don't want us to be happy. After two very successful seasons, the self-sabotage begins, and they decided to make a disappointing season because suffering is more familiar.
The script of Season 3 has everything we hate about cooking shows:
Boring, repetitive food scenes
Flashbacks about abuse
I had to skip scenes out of boredom, which is so sad.
3 Things I Like About The Bear:
The idea that a top achiever (Carmy) has a heart and cares about family makes it enjoyable to watch and fictional.
The script is beautifully written, and the directors enhance the experience, making it realistic and engaging. The way they shoot scenes with intricate details and simultaneous dialogues is amazing.
It's not predictable. One episode features a flashback, another takes place in Copenhagen, and then one focuses on Carmy's high school crush.
3 Things I Don't Like About The Bear:
Sydney
Her character hasn't developed like the others. At first, I liked her, but her failed project is not an excuse for her to be so controlling and annoying.
She was upset when Carmy was busy with Claire and offended when he edited and elevated her dishes. He's the best chef in the world, and he gave her a significant opportunity, so I think she overreacts.
All she does in season 3 is eye-roll, like come on now Carmy is dusty and not new and she wants to be innovative!!
If you don't want Carmy and Sydney to love each other, don't let them spend so much time together, and let me appreciate Claire through her actions. The romantic scenes are beautiful, but the love story between Carmy and Claire feels repetitive and lacks chemistry. The way he looks at her is the same as how he looks at a carrot. While their live scenes are beautifully directed, I'm not sure I like the feeling that she loves him more.
I don't like that they dislike Pete (Sugar's husband). The man is nice and polite, which highlights how toxic they can be.
Ramy (2019)
I wanted to love this but it's too much vulgar
The script is new, humanizes Muslims, and shows that they are normal people. Ramy is a lovable character at first.
The show misses a lot of things:
1- His three friends have no charisma, there is nothing to love about them. I know that they're supposed to be kind of bad friends but still, if I'm going to see them that much they must have admirable qualities.
2- His relationship with Stieve is not only not funny but the idea that he befriended him because he has no one. He only sees him instead of going to charity when he feels guilt and shame.
Should we love the diversity when the script is poorly written?
3- The lead must be loyal. Why should I love Ramy and watch the show if he has no good qualities? He is already a spoiled. When he cheated you could've given him some excuse, for example, to take drugs because sometimes Arabs give you drugs before your wedding. We didn't even feel that he liked his cousin that much to do such a thing. Why you didn't make him just kiss her and then stop? It's feels like you wanted us to hate him.
4- I was waiting for a close relationship with his sister to love him.
5- Even the dog didn't take care of him.
The only good thing about this is Amr Waked his father.
The show is not funny, vulgar, poorly written, failed to make us love the lead, and again not funny at all.
Dawaay El Safar (2024)
Beautiful idea but painfully boring
The friendship between Ali and Ibrahim is beautiful, and how Ali is very protective and caring makes you fall in love with him. However, the script is extremely fake and boring.
There is no room for imagination every character explains exactly how they feel literally and in such a way that it seems naive and robotic.
The old man is a good actor, Ali is like 5 out of 10 and the coffee man is good but everyone else is a disaster, no Charisma.
The actress who played Ali's mother is unbearable to watch, her eyes are not the eyes of a mother. The scene seemed like a college lecture, not a mother and a son.
The script lacks depth and authentic details similar to our character in Egypt. Who is the Egyptian man who fought with his best friend for stealing his ideas and company? Then, when he was packing his things to leave, he kissed his female friend's head because she was a caring person and didn't want him to go!!
Hi Cookie (2023)
Great actors and weak script.
Great acting, all the cast are perfect for their roles, some scenes are a bit theatrical but overall you watch the show because of them.
WEAK SCRIPT. Until ep 8 Everything is so predictable even though the EP is 30 min.
The flashback story of the two sisters is good but something is missing. I wasn't planning to continue watching until I saw pictures of Nam Ji Hyun in the school uniform on her Instagram and I was like oh maybe something exciting will happen that's how boring the show is.
What a waste of a talented cast!
Nam Ji Hyun is beyond beautiful and I'm sad that they don't give her more lead roles. She acts effortlessly and is very authentic.
Give the woman more leading roles. I'd love to see her acting with So ji sub.
Klaus (2019)
A breath of fresh air
It gives you tremendous positive energy
Creative, funny and artistic storytelling
Brilliant director
Great lighting
Hard working and astonishing animators
Gasper's voice is so beautiful.
From the first frame you know that you're watching a good movie which they're hard to find these days.
I know it's a classic story but I wish Klaus didn't die. Overall it's an amazing movie.
I sometimes gate how animations and cartoons are over saturated so I really appreciate the effort they put to make thus like a real movie.
The scene were they explained the history of their rivalry is a masterpiece.
Looking forward to seeing more movies from the same staff.
Yi Yeonaeneun Bulgahangryeok (2023)
Maybe cute but naive script
I know this is cute, a little bit funny and the actors are lovely but the script is extremely WEAK.
- is it reasonable after she put the spell on him to not to go to the hospital to see if he's still ill or not? He is already feeling better and the red hand disappeared
- why she didn't see the camera footage to see exactly what happened?
- the traditional CEO abusive character is so shallow, like give me a reason to love him! Instead of saying some corny lines.
Pls spend more time writing better scripts.
King deo raendeu (2023)
What a great disappointment
I love Lee Jun Ho and Lim Yoona but This show has broken the rule that the first 4 episodes are the best in Korean drama.
-Painfully expected from the first sec.
- it can be an example of a bad script so that we can teach young scriptwriters why this plot and storyline are horrible.
- This drama will survive only because the main actors are charismatic and have tons of fans.
- You think that Lee Junho and Yoona are too professional to choose such a bad script but here we go.
If you want to watch something when you're at the dentist, or you want to rest from work, something like a bad fast food meal, or of course if you're a teenager, you will love this drama.
-Waste of money, Time, and Efforts of hundreds of people.
Deo geullori (2022)
Women revenge is savage!! But..
A strong script and great actors
Young actors are way too good, and I think they're one of the big reasons this show is great.
I was shocked when I read that this is a real story and the real person committed suicide.
I've been watching men's revenge movies my whole life, and women's revenge is way better than men's revenge. The story has a lot of small details that make it powerful and interesting.
The young evil actress Shin Ye-Eun is extremely talented, charismatic and good to the point that I wish she acted in both roles. Song Hye-Kyo was average in that role and no chemistry between her and Lee Do-Hyun.
Yum Hye-Ran was excellent and her story was very emotional.
The end of the revenge was a bit too easy and boring. And we didn't need to see another revenge in the end, that was unnecessary.
The First 8 episodes are great and exciting.
The last 8 A waste of time.
Mauseu (2021)
Don't believe the hype.
It is interesting and different but unfortunately, They wanted to add too many details and different turns, so it became unlogical. It's like the producers said we want to put all the ideas in one show.
So we have a serial killer and a serial killer son enough? No!! And the cop's son is a serial killer.
Enough? Noo!!
They were friends and he took pictures of his crimes WAHT!!!
Is it smart to write a headache script?
The script is like the draft script that got refused because it not consistent.
And don't get me wrong I liked the suspense and the action but it could be a science fiction. If the lead actor decided to take offu the mask and it turned out he's is hyun bin, I wouldn't be surprised.
Frère et soeur (2022)
Don't be fooled by the critics reviews
This movie is the definition of disappointment.
The script kept building up, and you were waiting for a moment for a situation that broke everything between them, but instead, you got a painful to watch a couple of scenes to make you regret watching the film.
The story is so unconvincing to the point that maybe the writer himself doesn't know what happened between them to hate each other and COME ON! We get it ,she was jealous of him, their father was a narcissist and they scapegoated their son.
Their acting is good but they can't save such bad script.
What do you want? Do you want to make a movie about a dysfunctional family but put a fake french artistic spell on all the conversations. And what a beautiful ending for poor me, obnoxious, oblivious and self centered people.
Three Months (2022)
Why this is 2?
At first, you think you're watching a good creative movie until you find out that this is another story about an avoidant gen z gay man who is self-centered and unloyal. No depth. Poor me! No one loves me.
Mideunaiteu (2021)
Why is this movie a 4 ?
- First I have to start with what I like:
1- This is different from usual serial killer stories. You keep wondering how a girl like her could survive. And because this is not a smart detective against an intelligent serial killer, you're immediately hooked to the story and want the nice girl to live.
2- the lead actor is such a good actor. You believe him from the first killing scene.
3- the choices the characters had to make are very realistic and believable. For example, when the police officer chose his sister over the deaf girl.
- What ruined the whole movie?
1- "Excessive coincidences" First, the girl met the serial killer by coincidence. Isn't that enough? No, let's have 50 more.
2- The intelligent serial killer is stupid enough and can't catch her every time. Instead, he was talking or letting her talk. Like when she told him she didn't want to die.
3- You don't know anything about the serial killer. There is no depth to his character.
4- In the last dramatically confronting scene, she stapped herself with A KNIFE in her belly however she sit straight and gave him the middle finger and everybody just watched without doing anything. And the police came at the perfect time, She had been running for ages, but the police came when she managed to kill him by herself which could have been a good ending if it wasn't destroyed by an unrealistic long monologue and exaggerated action scenes.
5- Too much running. I'm sure they lost at least 7 kilos. Why didn't we see any smart trick to catch her? It's like she was chased by a mediocre killer who is just talkative and stupid.
6- the actress is very innocent and cute however Sometimes I was more afraid than her.
7- the policeman punched the serial killer and then turned his back to him to ask her if she is ok.!!!
And still, he couldn't follow him when he ran away to search for her mom. But of course, the deaf girl could because she can run.
So disappointed, This could have been an excellent movie.
The Undoing (2020)
Waste of time.. Every little detail is not creative
Extremely boring, bad acting even from nichole kidman, boring script and awful direction.
What a waste of money and time.
Beoning (2018)
One word "overrated"
I think nowadays it's artistic to be extremely boring!!
Tell Me What You Saw (2020)
What I like and What I don't like. This review from someone who watched the whole series
What I like and What I don't like.
This review from someone who watched the whole series
What I like :
1- The main idea is creative and new.
2- The police team are talented charismatic actors.
3- when they almost killed the first person who supposed to be the serial killer..the idea that he manipulated other people to kill was creative then I imagined someone like Charles manson and this was good because it is not the traditional serial killer plot.
4- the main actress is loveable enough to
continue watching her journey.
What I don't like :
1- Explaing what going on vocally.. Like assuming that viewers are stupid so we have to explain it in a ridiculous way
For example : when Oh Hyun-Jae was in front of kang dong shik house in the woods chasing him.. Before he entered the house he explained vocally what's going on...really?! Shouldn't he be silent in this situation.
2- When kang dong shik went to meet cha soo young at police station and insisted to see the office that was so obvious that I thought the writers want to distract me and make her friend suspicious and when he smiled to her when she dropped her coins...all of this made the final reveal not shocking AT ALL.
3- I really love Jang Hyuk..
But I think this is the directior's fault that he acted badly and way over the top.
When he took off his glasses and looked directly to the camera in episode 15
really!!!
breaking the fourth wall was just "Absurd".
4- Oh Hyun-Jae was teaching kids about crime and telling kids.. You wil catch crimals if you think like them... Kids!!
Another ridiculous Coincidence.
5- At least after all this suffering
I should see the serial killer in court.. I should see him die after killing all those people.!!!
I think We needed a strong closure.
6- The last ridiculous monolog about the will power to be good is "too educational".
*** I would recommend this series if you are just a Cynical person who can watch a whole series without a real emotional and warm connection between the main actors.
Just action without artistic depth.
The Last Right (2019)
Such a disappointment!
The story is good but directing made the movie boring and not enjoyable at all.
Good cast but after half an hour it was painful to continue.
A Bump Along the Way (2019)
A breath of fresh air
It's a lovely movie, very good actors and enjoyable to watch.
