Late night entertainment for 21st century
3 April 2024
Stumbled on this show one Tuesday night after a basketball game and discovered Chance the Rapper and Jimmy Fallon playing PASSWORD. I was shocked that the series had been revived since I watched it in the pass during the day. After one episode I was completely sold. Keke Palmer is over the top and as a host she brings so much personality to the show. Although I watched the old Password for years (when I was little), there is no comparison. The new version brings energy and excitement to a basically boring word guessing daytime show. Since it is at night the basic premise is entertainment. Yes this is entertaining and the audience helps a lot. Jimmy Fallon has a winner. I have set my TV to watch or record every episode every Tuesday now. Not to be missed for late night enjoyment.

Lost in Translation
26 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wanted to like this movie in spite of all the low reviews but couldn't find enough positive things about this movie to give it a rating above 6. The first thing I want to know is what is the movie about -- what is the theme? Unfortunately, the meaning and purposes of the movie were left to the final chapters and near the end. By the time you get to the meat of the movie you are bored by bad screenwriters, boring quips between the actors unfunny attempts to generate humor and a sense that most scenes are not original but retreads from other movies. I saw Ant man eyes, star wars bar scene with Jabba the Hutt and fighting scenes reminiscent of Star Wars then a little of Avatar then finally the Star Trek need for sonar signals from whales. It really felt like a retread when they did the Black Panther exposure of their universe to the world followed by the I am Ironman (oops Aquaman scene). Lastly, the sole reason not to go to movie....(the eating cockroaches - ugh) - bad enough embedded in the movie but for me to sit there after the credits to watch again - "total zero" thought pattern of editor, screenwriter and director. Wasted a lot of money producing a movie with great graphics and no substance.

Forget.

Loved every aspect of this film
5 December 2023
First: Character development

Second: A very good screenwriter who tells a story that is consistently good and meaningful from beginning to end.

Third: Actors and actresses that played their role with great artistry. (even the young child)

Fourth: CGI were over the top good and images of Godzilla were imposing enough to stir up fright and concern from the viewing perspective.

Fifth: Editing - spot on throughout. Never felt bored or distracted Sixth: Authenticity. Even though the viewer has no idea what the time period or the cities looked like in the mid 40ties the buildings, costumes, the motor vehicles all gave a feeling of that time period.

Lastly the movie was entertaining. Would never believe a Godzilla movie could rise to this level of production after all of the attempts over more than 60ty years to just get it right.

Highly recommend to everyone that is age appropriate. I have been a Godzilla fan since the Raymond Burr era and nothing has met this level of production until this movie.

A man with God on his side.
20 November 2023
The seasons of his life, childhood, teen years. Early adult hood were beautifully reproduced and garnered an immense amount of depth to assist in understanding the man - Tyler Perry. This documentary also allows the viewer to share his life's challenges, losses and failures and how he achieved mass success both career wise and financial successes. It extremely emotional documentary for me to digest. What I most appreciated about this documentary was it also showed the parasitic criticism of so many people who failed to understand that Tyler Perry is more than an a self centered business icon but a man with a plan that exceeds any criticism. He is portrayed as of of a man of vision that has catapulted him into national and international success. Just looking at the timeline and tracking his success (to this point). -- An American Story of the Fulfillment of Dreams. And philosophical lessons for many to learn. There is a Part Two to this story yet to be written and you can feel the power of commitment to the development of more and more groundbreaking achievement.

Well done and Addictive
10 August 2023
Started this drama with no expectations but as an international (American) viewer of over 15 years of Chinese dramas I have definitely rated this masterpiece in the top 100 (even before its conclusion). The drama has a little fantasy mixed in with Wuxia and a very talented staff of actors and actresses. It rises above many dramas because of its uniqueness. The FL carries the center of the drama but the stories of the ML's which are 3 very talented actors have infused the written and produced episodes with enough substance and intrigue to give the viewer pure entertainment. I have not read the novel as suggested by one reviewer but I don't believe you can't enjoy this drama without a prior written basis. I have learned long ago to make a "playbill" of dramas that have more than 50 characters and a list of all the sects, gods, demons, cities and historical references of the past to keep track of the more complicated dramas. Yes, it is complicated but thoroughly worth the viewer's time. Very high ratings on other sites and shocked to see the lower ratings on this site. Costumes, cinematography and creativity are three criteria that has truly been met above expectations. Highly recommend.

Great movie and the singing was over the top good
6 June 2023
I have no biases because I never saw the 1989 version but intend to watch tonight. I can only judge what I viewed on screen today and it was marvelous. The CGI technology of filming a drama as if filmed underwater, the total island immersion, the castle, the shipwreck scene, the singing by Ariel were all commendable and worthy of praise. The movie was fluid and never bogged down and overall totally enjoyable. It is pitiful to read some of the comments slamming the movie as a failure. You can leave the theater believing in the existence of mermaids it was so realistic. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and it was absolutely a beautiful work of art.

One man shoot em up!!!
24 July 2022
There is something that turns me off when watching this type of movie --- predictability and asking the question = why did he or she do this or that? Both overrode the quality of this production. I really spent more time googlng the cities they were visiting to find travel value for any of the places. The story - incredibly lame at time. There is so much oversight for these agencies the idea that a rogue branch of assassins is operating and the follow-up idea that a rogue solo figure could call up thes many hit groups with multiple casualties. If I watch again I will start counting how many died in this drama and why there was no intervention by other governments to stop this madness.

TO BE ALL YOU CAN BE AND MORE!!!!!
25 June 2022
I have watched Jennifer Lopez's career since she was a Fly Girl (I'm a 72 year old AfroAmerican woman). I never forget watching her sing early on in a TV special and at that moment I realized this was one of the most talented women on earth. She never failed to succeed in anything she put her hands in or on and never held back her talents or determination to be the best or be in the spotlight. This special docudrama shows all of her raw emotions but also demonstrates that her life of perseverance (often times while been persevered) is nonetheless a story that needed to be shared. She is more than a dancer, singer, actress - she is "the movement" that we must all teach our young girls to aspire for in life. Roadblocks, negativity, disappointments are just pathways to new doors. I felt that throughout this drama. I cried and cheered her and felt all of her emotions. A powerful drama that is a must see. There will be naysayers and continuing negative comments -- but this young woman is the epitome of every mother's dreams for their daughters. I am not a fan girl type but I must say the road for Jennifer Lopez is not done. Her beauty inside and out should not be understated by anyone. The sheer emotional and physical strength of JLo is a godsend and thankfully it has been perfectly captured in this docudrama. She really doesn't need validation by anyone or thing or institution - she is the REAL VALID WOMAN of the 21st century pure motivation.

A perfect profile film of a modern Savior
20 June 2022
This biographic profile of Benjamin Crump's life and personal sacrifices should be viewed by everyone. What motivates a person to choose a path that is dangerous and threatening with the level of conviction he has shown is remarkable and historic. My favorite words are "financially unsustainable". If nothing changes - nothing changes. He is bringing about change and laying pathways for every victim of a civil rights violation. These are not small cases but major cases worthy of representation by ALL law firms and no longer will victims have to be satisfied with being just a victim. Thank you Benjamin Crump - you are a HERO. Not some fictional character but the epitome of what Justice should look like for all Americans. The production was well balanced and and produced with a veil of mystery at first but the mystery of dedication and drive for the disenfranchised was clearly revealed. Kudos to the director and the camera man that followed those precious moments in your life to share with us.

Excellent action scenes
8 January 2021
This story was extremely entertaining just for the fight scenes. Didn't have much of a plot because it was not necessary to tell a story that epitomizes the base racial prejudices of one culture vs another . In addition, bullying and need for arrogant revenge and humiliation was is not propaganda but a good story line. This time period is definitely a probable scenario that could happen.

Not perfect but entertaining
31 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In these high tech movie times this movie seemed like a basic fare. But for me basic was all that was needed. Good plot line, enough action not to stop my heart, and loveable characters (e.g. Nick Nolte). Obviously some aspects of the story were weak and possibly stupid (Jada Pinkett;s role in the FBI) but Gerard Butler carried his role well as the savior. Not a waste -- not perfect -- but enjoyed.
