Do not watch the trailer....
10 May 2024
I've just finished watching the first two episodes, so my review is based on that alone. Without having read the books or any similar material, I approached the TV show with a fresh perspective (although it could have been even fresher if the trailer hadn't spoiled some aspects for me). I only watch 30 sec of the trailer, and I really regret it; nowadays, trailers tend to summarize the entire story rather than just giving hints and teasing, which diminishes the excitement of watching the actual show or movie.

That being said, the first episode had a rather slow pace, and as someone who knew what was going to happen, it started to feel a bit boring. Despite the attempt to create a sense of mystery, the trailer spoiled the experience of discovering things along with the characters.

The second episode improved upon the pace, although it still remained slow. However, it reached a satisfying point that gives hope for improvement in future episodes. I appreciate the main characters and the actors portraying them, particularly Jennifer Connelly; there's a lot of potential there. I just hope the show picks up the pace a bit.

I've been craving a good sci-fi show for a while, and this one might just be it. It certainly has great potential."

A Great Movie.... for all ages
22 March 2024
I might be a little late to the party, but I just had to share my thoughts on this incredible movie. I really wish I caught it in theaters when it first came out. I went in with no expectations, and boy, was I blown away! It's been ages since I've seen an animated film this good.

Every character is so well-written, their motivations are crystal clear, and the pacing of the movie is just perfect. And can we talk about Perrito the chihuahua? He steals the show!

The visuals are stunning, with a refreshing approach that adds a whole new dimension to the action scenes. It's unlike anything I've seen in animation before.

What's even better is that the story appeals to both kids and adults. You can watch it from different perspectives and still enjoy it equally. The movie is brimming with heart and warmth, and all the emotions feel so genuine and relatable.

I highly recommend this movie. From the writing to the cast to the visuals, it's easily one of the best animated films I've ever seen. And yes, even though it's a sequel, it surpasses all the previous ones, including the original. Trust me, you don't want to miss this one!

Not watching anymore..
14 February 2024
All this procedural series has a pattern: a crime is solved, peppered with brief glimpses into characters' personal lives (30 seconds on the beginning and end of the episode). While this keeps things moving, it doesn't leave much room for deep character development. Kristen, played by Alexa Davalos, was one of the only characters with a intriguing backstory, and it's disappointing that her character didn't get more exploration. Her departure from the show was a letdown for me.

I know some people didn't like Davalos's whispery voice, which makes me wonder if that played a role in her exit. Personally, I'm a fan of her acting and hope to catch her in another show soon. Her presence brought a unique energy to the series, and her absence will be felt by fans.

It's an action movie like any other action movie
21 August 2023
I don't believe they were attempting to sell anything beyond a typical action movie here, so if that was their intention, they certainly succeeded! I went into it without expectations, and it turned out to be enjoyable, exactly what you anticipate from a movie like this.

The writing was a bit weak, which is a common trait in almost any action movies. However, there were two aspects that stood out and aren't typically seen in such films. Firstly, there was no excessively long fight scene where characters (especially women) are hit multiple times and keep on fighting. This was quite refreshing.

Secondly, they actually addressed the injuries sustained by the characters. In many movies, the main character gets hurt, but is miraculously fine just moments later. In this film they show the character's injuries and exhaustion throughout the entire movie. I thought this was well-executed, which is why I gave it a rating of 6.

Overall, it's a good movie if you simply want to switch off your mind for a few hours and not think about anything.

Most anticlimactic Scene Ever!
19 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS.. don't read if you haven't watched.

I have always been a fan of the Mission Impossible franchise and overall, I did enjoy the movie. It was action-packed and a lot of fun to watch. However, there was no character development and I was genuinely disappointed with the sequence in which Ilsa dies. I'm open to the idea of killing off a main character. However, if you're going to do it, you need to do it properly.

First and foremost, the deaths should leave a lasting impact. They should be meaningful and contribute to the storyline, so the audience can understand why the beloved character had to go.

That being said, what they did to Ilsa's character was disappointingly lazy. Think about it: throughout the entire movie, Grace's character has been portrayed as someone who avoids trouble, yet suddenly she decides to confront her assailant instead of continuing running from him - it just doesn't add up. And a movie that runs for 2 hours and 43 minutes, they couldn't spare a couple of extra minutes to create a powerful scene?

I find it hard to believe that the creator of a movie centered around the main character, Ethan, and the love for his friends would think it's a good idea to let one of them die alone on a bridge in such a poorly executed ending and offscreen.

If she is indeed dead, then her demise is the most anticlimactic killing of a main character I've ever seen. She had faced much more formidable villains in the past, only to be killed by a pocket knife in a two-minute flight scene that wasn't even well-executed (unlike the one she had in Rogue Nation). At the very least, they could have let Ethan arrive in time for them to exchange a few words and say their goodbyes.

The worst part, in my opinion, is that they don't even utilize her death properly to enhance the storyline. It's like, "Oh, I'm a bit more angry now," with a character I was already angry at before. It should have had a more profound impact on the other characters. Ethan finding her on the floor and reacting with a sense of true devastation, instead of you have Ethan find her on the floor and it's like.. oh no .. that is a shame.. followed by a scene that him and Benji shed a couple tears.

This leaves me with the nagging feeling that maybe she isn't actually dead. The choice to kill off a character like that ,offscreen, just doesn't seem to align with what we know about the franchise.

Because it didn't even fit the story that had been developed for Ethan and Ilsa over the past two movies, especially considering the closure in Fallout. It feels like they made this decision on the spot, without proper consideration.

I hope the next installment explains more and provides proper closure for the remaining characters, assuming this is indeed the last Mission Impossible movie.

Good actresses... bad director
4 May 2023
The story is ok, the dialogs could've been better written to try to make it less predictable, but that is basically any action movie, so no surprises.

I really like the chemistry of the actresses, they were very good and the characters were not bad at all, mainly Diane's one.

The huge mistake of this movie is the director and stunt coordination..the flight scenes are telegraphed.. the director had no idea where to go with the story.. making the movie longer than necessary, looks like they forgot editing too. Mainly on the final scene that basically repeats itself.

The movie wasnt well advertised either.. the only reason I knew about it's because I follow one of the actresses on social media.

Despite all that, I would like to see a sequel, for the simple fact that I would love to see those characters and actresses working together again.... But hopefully better directed.
