This movie is so bad, and the cast, which includes some semi-big names, is so bad in it, you will spend most of the films running time (if you can manage to keep watching) wondering how any of these actors got work again. I can't imagine this ever had much of a theatrical release, and got its only exposure on late night 1980's cable TV, a fate the film certainly deserved. I know they have fans, so if your interested, Cherie & Marie Currie sing a couple of songs that I don't think are available anywhere else. If this wasn't so obscure, it would have to rank pretty high on the IMDb Bottom 100 list. Trust me, it's really that bad.
A notorious big budget flop when released. This Robert Altman inspired comedy has some terrific moments and an occasionally inspired cast. Although it goes on to long an loses its focus completely, there are enough funny moments that will keep a curious viewer watching until the end. If you are a fan of character actors and actresses, this will be a treat for you; you will recognize so many terrific little known performers throughout this movie (you may not know their names, but you know their faces), heck even the kid from A Christmas Story turns up in a small part. Rent if from Netflix, if you read this, I bet you will enjoy it.
This is very well done, and is very informative and fans of the band will find this engrossing. But with the recent death of Sandy West, the lack of participation in this documentary of Joan Jett is very sad. Let's face it, there will never be another documentary about this band, that will have the opportunity to tell the true story, or at least the story of the band from each of the major participants. It's very sad that after all this time the participants in this story could not put their differences aside for long enough to put on film their story and feelings about their memories about this unique and very neglected band. Or maybe the fact that they could not, is the true story of how horrible this experience was for the young women who lived it.
