Drag Me to Hell (2009)
Plot could have been good but it is full of flows
The story has a good potential but it has too many flows. The first one is the whole scene in the bank at the beginning of the movie. To start with you don't just show up in a bank to talk with a mortgage officer without an appointment. Secondly, no one go to a bank and beg for a loan, you fill up an application before you are rejected or approved. The old woman claimed to be living there for over 30 years. Are you telling me that in all that time she has not paid off her mortgage yet? What bank will approve an extend on a mortgage loan to a very old woman. Then, no mortgage officer will tell a costumer that he/she would ask his/her boss for approval. This is just to point out some inconsistency. There are a few small ones more during the movie but the end really screw up with the whole envelope scene. When Christine is holding the envelope while she is at the dinner you can see clearly the button in it. Are you telling me that in all that time she never realized that she was holding the wrong envelope... and what are the chances to find two identical sealed blank envelopes in a car... it could have had a better ending.
Los tracaleros (1977)
Good entertainment.
Totally filmed in natural scenarios it could seem at first glance as an amateur movie but for a low budget movie with limited technical resources, no special effects and no computer generated images it was very well done. A simple story plot that takes you first and slowly to a proper introduction to the main characters in a way that you end up identifying yourself with them and even love them while the situations get complicated as it develops to its climax and then easily untied as it leads you to a surprising ending. Excellent performance by Toco Gomez, Elluz Peraza and Orlando Urdaneta who give credibility to the main characters of the movie. The script is great and the cinematography is fantastic. Good example of the 70's South American movies.
