Loot: Mally's (2024) Season 2, Episode 5

Finally a strong episode this season!

The 5th episode of the 2nd season has the spark we've witnessed in the first season. It feels lively, colorful and fun again.

So far I haven't been impressed with the 2nd season, the initial episodes felt a bit hollow, but not this one. I think the weekly release cycle is not helping with keeping the momentum going but this episode made me want to continue waiting for the rest of the episodes.

This episode is showing the potential of the show and how interesting it can be.

We see character development, humor and start of new stories that are believable and yet a little exaggerated (just like Molly's account balance).

I do hope that the show will continue on the same path for the second part of the season.

I adored main character's mother and his friend, Kim - they were both likeable and great people. Ryan was lucky to have them around.

The chemistry between Anna and her cop boyfriend was incredible.

So impressed by this episode, it has brought the whole story together and gave a new perspective to the whole show. It also does a great job acknowledging the difficult and heroic journey of trans people.
