You Can Live Forever (2022)
Heartfelt Story of Young Love
There are few movies that have the emotional depth of this one. The movie explores the constraints of being a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion, but avoids demonizing it. Instead we see layers of emotions, and the internal conflict of wanting to adhere to what the religion requires, while grappling with either being gay or having a family member who is gay. The movie could have been written in the context of any orthodox or conservative religious community. The movie also has many tender moments between the two teenage protagonists, and the actors have sizzling chemistry together. Visually, the cinematography is gorgeous, with scenes of the beach, sunrises, and sunsets. All of the actors were top-notch.

Excellent Depiction Women's Baseball in the 1940s
I saw the 1992 movie and loved it. This 8-part series is able to go deeper. I love the depiction of life during WWII. I love women playing baseball. I love the diversity of characters. And I love the different plot developments of the queer characters. The acting overall is superb. Bravo to all who made this happen. Can't wait for the second season!
