Very moving

The bond between these men is something that the rest of the world can only aspire to. This movie not only tells of an incredible, dedicated friendship, but is also very well produced. The cinematography was great. Video and audio were very well balanced. The story was told in a very naturally flowing way. I'm really glad I saw this.

Life Changing!
27 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie completely by accident (or divine intervention?). Our regular Sunday night TV had been preempted by an awards show, so we decided to see what was on Netflix. I saw the title, and it described me so well that I had to see it.

Joe Cross sets out across the US to promote better eating and show what it's done for him. I thought this first half of the film was informative and I expected it to end there. He got his point across about the benefits of consuming the juice of a variety of fruits and vegetables, and how the body uses those nutrients to heal itself.

Then comes Phil, an overweight, out of shape truck driver who reaches out for help. Following Phil's journey was tremendously inspiring. Watching him lose weight, decrease or eliminate medications and just take control of his life has changed MY life completely.

Before the credits finished rolling, I had my shoes and jacket on and was out the door on my way to buying my first juicer.

This is a movie I will re-watch often.

Truly enjoyed this movie

I really enjoyed this movie. The characters and story line were well developed.

While the overarching story is entertaining, the movie also does a wonderful job of bringing out the struggles of a recent widower and his family. From father/son issues to death and dying and moving through it all. This movie has many heart moments in it that will be sure to touch you.

The acting is very well done, which I've come to expect from Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson. Elle Fanning and Colin Ford have wonderful screen chemistry. Maggie Elizabeth Jones is the cutest and wisest little girl I've ever seen.

I left this movie ready to take a road trip to California to visit the real zoo. A little research later, I found that the real zoo is in England. I hope to one day be able to visit the Mee's.

Was hoping for better

Warning: Spoilers
My girlfriend and I saw this last night and both left feeling like it was a cute movie, but not a great movie. Worth a Redbox rental, but not the $10 movie ticket.

It certainly has a great cast who, I think, did as well as they could with the material. I think there's just too much going on. Too many characters. You never get to know any of them, so you never get to really like any of them. This movie could have used a lot more character development. I really wanted to like these people, but wasn't allowed to get that close.

It rings a little of Love Actually, but that movie developed its characters well and brought everything together in the end in a believable way. I felt this movie jammed everyone together in unbelievable ways that were convenient for the writer.
