Aaron Bacon (2009)
Maybe if reviewers understood this was real and not fiction.....
This is real, this is what happens to children in these despicable programs. This is not fiction, this is nearly a documentary. Aaron Bacon is a real kid that is now dead, and we all owe his memory to watch this chilling story of his last days and act upon it. Justice for him, justice for all those abused in the name of "treatment". We demand justice for the untold multitude of children. This film is magnificent, and those that don't understand simply don't know what it's about. It's not here to entertain, it's here to inform. This has excellent production value, but damn it, what should matter is the story.
I can honestly say that this one account is a good primer to the industry. I believe most of those watching this are either activists, or parents wondering what to do. Just know, this is real, I've seen it so many times. You child may not die, but they will likely be deeply scarred.
God forbid you ever have to witness just how accurate this documentary is, it may be residential "treatment", wilderness "therapy" or any "tough love" program, but in the end, you may never get your child back- -in this case he died, but in others they were damaged to the point of losing their humanity. I weep for the state of our species, our government, our "treatment", and our children!
Thank God that somebody has chosen to express the situation properly.
