Detroit (2003)

Surprise and general weirdness

I saw this movie at the 27th Göteborg film festival in Sweden, hadn't planed on seeing it since the short review I'd read didn't promise much. However I did see it and I don't regret it the least, probably one of the best (out of 24) movies I've seen at this years festival.

It leaves you something to think about. It surprises you.

Typical swedish misery

I do respect Måns and Hannes for their acting skills, they were some of my favorites during my childhood. However I've seen this movie too many times, "this movie" being a typical swedish film about the (exaggerated) misery of ordinary life although "Klassfesten" was much worse in this fashion. You get this embarrassed feeling like you're seeing something you shouldn't. If you like this feeling, perhaps this one's for you.
