Nutcracker! (2003)
Excellent, must see
I saw this in theatre with my mom when it was out...and it was absolutely hilarious!! I've never seen a comical version of the Nutcracker, but this was great!
My dance teacher told me to see it because it was funny, and one of the dancers went to my dance school...he was brilliant as well! It is definitely a must see if you haven't seen it yet though, there's just so much comedy and humour in it, and as it's being shown through dance, it's even better!! A brilliant show.
It follows the story of the Nutcracker so if you've seen any other version, you'll still understand the storyline as you did with the version you've seen!
Bridget Jones's Diary (2001)
Totally love it!
I loved this film, and I still do. I've seen it about two or three times every day for the past two weeks! Sad, I know, but it's that great!! And after having to study Pride and Prejudice in school, Colin Firth is just so gorgeous!! He will always be Mr Darcy, and will never be replaced. He plays Mark Darcy so well, and since Helen Fielding wrote his character around him makes it that much better!
Hugh Grant plays Daniel excellently, with his bad-boy English style, it's brilliant! He's hilarious, and a wonderful actor in this film. I'm glad he was chosen to act this character, I don't think anybody else could have done it as well!!
Center Stage (2000)
The best film ever!!
Being a dancer myself, I think this film gave an excellent view on how hard dancing can have on your life. It really isn't as easy as it looks...and that's not just the dancing. Having to cope with remembering everything, having to be not only good enough, but brilliant is tough.
I love how all of the characters are portrayed - they each have a different role and it makes the film excellently spread. Everyone at my dance school has seen it, and we're all in love with it! We've practically learnt all of the dances because we've seen it so many times. It's just a feel good film to watch, and I'm glad they decided to make this film.
I think it's good how most of the actors are actually dancers as well, so they can actually show what it's like from the inside, rather than just acting it. A must see film!!!!
