Open Mic to the extreme!
6 September 2006
Each act has up to three minutes to entertain the audience with whatever talent they may have. Each member of the audience has a button which they can press when they've had enough. Once half of the audience has pushed their button, the act comes to an abrupt end and is forced to leave the stage. If the act manages to stay on stage for three minutes then they win an award, 1,000 pounds and the chance to come back and compete in the semi-final.

In the first couple of weeks acts have included: Opera singers, soul singers, good singers, bad singers, African dancers, break-dancers, line dancers, comedians, magicians, illusionists, a man talking about his passion for pork pies, a bog-snorkeler, a fairy and a toe-wrestler... But don't let this list put you off, amongst the chaff there are some absolute gems! With the current trend for British TV to be either soaps, fly-on-the-wall documentaries, or repeats of "Open All Hours", this is a show worth recording to watch instead!
