Give it a miss

1 just for the sets and costumes Movie has nothing else. Weak story line, acting, direction. Walked out after the interval, that should say it all.

Stree (2018)

A new genre in Hindi cinema
2 September 2018
Entertaining, delightful, frightening all at once. Stree is a lovely combination of horror and comedy, a mix not attempted before. Horror without gore, crazy make-up or sexuality. Comedy without cliches, over the top characters and crass jokes. The movie keeps you engaged till the end. Finally, a Hindi movie that I enjoyed to the core. Excellent work by the entire star cast. Kudos to the crew for giving us this gem. Well done!

Pointless & a waste of time
17 April 2018
The only saving grace to this movie was Varun Dhawan and the fact that there are no songs. The film was meaningless, with a weak storyline. A good movie either thrills you, makes you laugh or cry. This one didn't evoke a single response except for relief that it was over. Considering that this movie is based on relationships, there was absolutely no effort to develop them. Mediocre at best, it would be wise to give this one a miss.

Eega (2012)
9/10
Must watch for entire family
21 October 2012
I went and watched the Hindi version of Eegaa called Makkhi. Please do not be put off by the title of the movie...Makkhi ( fly ). After a longtime, the entire family enjoyed a movie together. Even my 6 year old daughter, who normally starts fidgeting after 20 minutes into a movie...sat engrossed till the very end. The story is simple and that is what makes it enchanting. The special effects are quite good. I specially liked the way the film starts, the introduction is something that every parent will identify with. It seemed like someone had recorded our family conversation and put it out there .... brilliant! The film could have gone a little easy with the portrayal of the obsession angle, but other than that ..... a must watch for everyone. Go and enjoy!

Ra.One (2011)
Definitely watchable
7 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Ra. One. I almost did not see it because of the pathetic reviews the movie received!! But, hey maybe we have been too harsh or had high expectations from a movies that is essentially a PS game come alive. Seen in the right context and by the right audience (kids 5 - 12years) the movie is fun.

The movie could have done well without the silly preachy dialogue by SRK as Subramaniam, silly under the belt jokes by Satish Shah and a robot with feelings!!!

That apart parents can watch this one for the great songs and the sheer joy of watching their little ones have a good time. This one is for the family. ENJOY!
