I watched it to the end
16 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Er....where do i start? .....This is got to be the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life time. It's like there were no rehearsals at all. My 7 year old and her friends would have done a better job than this. They would have made me laugh too. With all the bad feedback about this movie, I decided to watch this so called Sinbad to prove the critics wrong. I braced and said to myself ''you will watch it to the end''. I went through the horror and torture of actually watching this mistake to the end. It's like being locked in an empty room with no windows. These are the kind of movies that ruin actors' careers. To tell you the truth, a TV that is off is more entertaining to watch than this flop. Watch it and have your say. We've had comment like people walking out of the cinema ten minutes into the movie and theatre being completely empty before the end of the movie. But if you can bear torture then here is the ultimate one you'll not be able to bear. I was actually praying for the movie to end. Glad I didn't watch it with my family (I couldn't have finished watching it). I'll keep it for the next generation so they see the worst movie flop in the history of the world.

Hot and Saucey
16 July 2005
This Arabian Nights classic is really not for kids. Very rare and hard to find. I've only seen this movie in German (no subtitles),but it contains loads of steamy scenes...surely not for kids or under 18s. Don't know the story because I can't read or understand German but you can tell its a very interesting film. I'm dying to grab hold of one with subtitles. If there's anyone out there with such a copy, i'll be willing to buy it at a price. I rated this movie 7 out of 10 because of the fabulous costumes, exotic scenes, escapades and hot and steamy scenes. To be true..i don't know which is the most erotic between this Ali Baba and Sheherazade 1982. You have to see them to judge between the two.

*****One interesting piece of work*****
12 July 2005
This Sinbad film was mistakenly credited as Simbad when released on VHS. Most copies were re-called from stores and those of us who were able to secure one was lucky to keep this interesting piece of work. The company went bankrupt soon after re-calling the copies available from stores. Hence, it has never been released again.

Returning from a long sea voyage, Sinbad finds himself stripped of his home and possessions by the crazy Caliph who turns out to be his lookalike. he falls in with a pair of rogues whose incompetence leaves all three drugged and sold into slavery on the high seas.

Allah intervenes and they find themselves on the ship bringing the beautiful princess Scheherazade to Baghdad for her wedding to the murderous Caliph. Sinbad immediately falls head-over-heels in love with this Arabian Nights Princess - with disastrous results!.....The adventure has just begun and its up to you to hunt this rare gem to know the rest.

This 1973 version of Sinbad is full of interesting characters that will make you laugh 'till you cry. The plot summary is good and so is the actors and costumes. Worth watching and owning.

Starring Robert Malcolm & Sonia Wilson.

Sadko (1953)
9/10
It's a classic and a masterpiece.
8 May 2005
The original Russian version with subtitles is one you should consider watching than the English dubbed version of Sadko called the ''magic voyage of Sinbad''. Not to say the English version is not worth watching but how can one make more of a masterpiece when it is already an acclaimed masterpiece and doesn't need any salt and pepper (re-dubbed & re-cut) to spice it up. The result can be devastating if you've already seen the original (Sadko 1952).

There are good and bad comments about this film, thanks to the re-dubbed version. I'm sure everyone that has seen the original version (sadko) will give it at least an 8 out of 10.

Someone made a comment that the film is goofy because Sinbad wasn't wet when he visited the great kingdom at the bottom of the sea and how did he manage to hold his breath that long. Well... the film is a fairy tale, not a documentary or reality show...nothing is real and it would have looked goofy if they were wet. As a matter of fact the underwater scenes are a feast for the eyes and a big step in special effects during its time (1952). This film should be treated with more respect. I'm sure if these critics see the original(sadko 1952), their views will be totally different. And I think ''the magic voyage of sinbad'' should not be credited with ''SADKO''. Little is known about sadko while magic voyage of sinbad was well advertised 10 years later. That explains the reason why sadko suffers the bitterness of its good for nothing sequel, magic voyage of sinbad 1962. Like I said, ''SADKO 1952'' is a classic and a masterpiece nothing more or less.
