That's Not My Dog! (2018)
Great Entertainment!
I was so glad I made the effort to see this film despite the awkward screening times over only four days at the cinemas. I found myself laughing out loud in the cinema at some of the jokes, as well as blown away by the superb musical performances captured live on stage. It's not a conventional movie, which is probably why some critics have been harsh, but if you want a dose of great entertainment then give this a try. Includes the best penguin joke ever.
Upper Middle Bogan (2013)
Classic Australian Comedy for the World
The quality of Upper Middle Bogan across all three seasons was superb. The world of this series was a brilliant and original concept that was entertainingly teased out across several years. Before the third season aired on ABC TV, I wondered if the frequent laughs could be maintained. They were. The writers, cast and crew delivered quirky stories and hilarious moments that fired up water-cooler conversations for months. Some of the funniest situations came in the third season. I ended up buying the complete DVD set just to dip back into certain favourite episodes with ease.
Newton's Law (2017)
Highly Entertaining!
Newton's Law brilliantly balances dramatic and comedic story-lines in a highly entertaining series. I enjoyed Claudia Karvan's lead character (Josephine Newton) as much as Richard Roxburgh's legendary character Rake, even though they are very different types of barristers.
The main dramatic thread in each episode handles current or unusual legal issues in an original and engaging way. The supporting story-lines provide comedy, charm and clever plot developments that seamlessly complement each court case. The sexual tension between Claudia Karvan and Toby Schmitz (Lewis Hughes) plays out with continual twists and allure across the first season. More please!!!
